Live price and stock can change the answer. In listings reviewed on 7 October 2026, the Lava Virat Curve 5G 6GB/128GB was shown at ₹23,999, while 91mobiles listed the Galaxy M36 at ₹21,999 on Amazon; the Lava was marked out of stock there. These are seller- and source-specific snapshots, not guaranteed checkout prices. For a buyer prioritizing a long, clearly stated software-support commitment and a versatile documented camera setup, the Galaxy M36 is the safer choice. Consider the Lava for its listed larger battery and faster charging, after confirming availability and its support policy.
Price difference: check matching variants and live stock
Samsung’s 30 June 2025 launch announcement gave introductory Indian prices of ₹16,499 for 6GB/128GB, ₹17,999 for 8GB/128GB, and ₹20,999 for 8GB/256GB. The first price included a stated ₹1,000 instant bank discount. These were launch terms, not current prices. Samsung said sales would begin on 12 July 2025 through Samsung.com, Amazon, and select retail stores. Samsung Newsroom India

In listings reviewed on 7 October 2026, Gadgets 360 showed the Lava Virat Curve 5G 6GB/128GB at ₹23,999. 91mobiles also showed ₹23,999 for that Lava configuration and marked it out of stock, while listing the Galaxy M36 at ₹21,999 on Amazon. That comparison is not like-for-like across all M36 memory options, and the price snapshots do not establish which phone is cheaper today. What differs in everyday use?
| Decision | Samsung Galaxy M36 5G | Lava Virat Curve 5G | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|---|
| Display | Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display at 120Hz. | Gadgets 360 lists 6.75 inches and FHD+ at 120Hz; 91mobiles describes an AMOLED panel and gives 6.67 inches. | Both are listed with high-refresh AMOLED-class displays. Third-party listings disagree on Lava’s exact screen size. |
| Rear cameras | Samsung specifies a 50MP OIS triple-camera system; its specifications also list an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro. | Third-party listings describe a single 50MP rear camera. | Samsung has the more versatile documented camera array. Megapixels alone do not establish image quality. |
| Front camera and video | 13MP front camera; Samsung lists 4K recording on front and rear cameras. | Comparison listings specify a 13MP front camera; equivalent video capabilities are not established by the reviewed listing. | Samsung’s documented video features are more specific. The available listing evidence does not establish that Lava lacks a particular feature. |
| Processor | Exynos 1380, 5nm, according to Samsung; the comparison listing gives up to 2.4GHz. | MediaTek Dimensity 7100, according to third-party listings; the comparison gives up to 2.4GHz. | Clock speed alone cannot determine which is faster in everyday use. No same-method performance test here establishes a winner. |
| Battery and charging | 5,000mAh battery and 25W charging, according to Samsung. | Third-party sources list a 6,000mAh battery and 45W charging. | Lava has the larger stated capacity and higher stated charging rate. Those figures do not guarantee longer runtime or a particular charging time. |
| Software support | Samsung promises six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates; the phone launched with One UI 7. | 91mobiles reports two years of OS updates and three years of security updates; an official Lava policy was not established by the reviewed sources. | Samsung’s sourced support commitment is clearer and longer. Confirm Lava’s policy directly with the manufacturer before relying on the reported duration. |
| Build and protection | Samsung specifies Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection and a 7.7mm body. | Gadgets 360 reports a polycarbonate body and IP64 rating. | These describe different aspects of construction and protection, not directly comparable measures of overall durability. |
| Listed memory options | 6GB/128GB, 8GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB at launch. | The reviewed listing reports 6GB/128GB. | Compare the exact configuration and live price, rather than treating prices for different memory variants as equivalent. |
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy M36 if long-term support and camera flexibility matter most
- Samsung’s announced six-generation Android upgrade and six-year security-update commitment is the strongest clearly sourced support policy in this comparison.
- The documented OIS triple-camera setup includes ultrawide and macro cameras, giving you more rear-camera options than the single-camera arrangement reported for Lava.
- Samsung also provides specific front- and rear-camera 4K recording information.
Consider the Lava Virat Curve for battery capacity, charging, or a curved display
- Third-party listings report a 6,000mAh battery and 45W charging, compared with Samsung’s stated 5,000mAh and 25W.
- Its curved AMOLED presentation may suit buyers who prefer that screen design, but confirm the exact display specifications because the cited listings disagree on screen size.
- Do not assume that a battery-capacity figure predicts your own runtime; usage and test conditions affect battery life. The available comparison-page battery durations are not presented here as general-use results because their test conditions are not established.
- Verify Lava’s software-support policy with the manufacturer before treating the duration reported by 91mobiles as a firm commitment.
How to compare the final offers
- Match memory configurations first: compare the Lava 6GB/128GB listing with an M36 6GB/128GB listing, or compare the relevant higher-capacity M36 variant only if it meets your needs.
- Check the seller’s current stock, bank or card conditions, and final checkout price. Historical launch prices and third-party listing snapshots can differ from the offer available to you.
- Decide which trade-off matters more: Samsung’s documented support and camera versatility, or Lava’s listed battery capacity and charging rate.
