The Samsung Galaxy M36 5G was listed at ₹21,999 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 17 5G at ₹27,999 in the price comparison—a ₹6,000 snapshot difference. Xiaomi’s India store separately listed the Redmi in Arctic Blue with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage for ₹27,999. These are observed listings, not guaranteed current prices; check the seller and exact configuration before buying.
Price difference and variants
The available price snapshot puts the M36 ₹6,000 below the Redmi. Xiaomi’s own India store listing identifies the Redmi price as ₹27,999 for the Arctic Blue 6GB/128GB variant: Xiaomi India store. The comparison price for the M36 is ₹21,999, but the available evidence does not identify a seller or establish its exact configuration. Treat that figure as a comparison-page snapshot rather than a verified live offer.

Memory configurations shown on comparison pages can differ. A fair price comparison requires matching RAM and storage, then checking whether the displayed amount depends on a card offer, exchange, or other condition. Prices and stock may change after the listing is checked.

Display: what the reported sizes tell you
Comparison pages consistently describe the M36’s screen as a 6.7-inch 120Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED panel. They describe the Redmi screen as roughly 7 inches and OLED, but the evidence does not establish its resolution or refresh rate consistently. The listed diagonal alone cannot tell you which screen looks sharper, is easier to use one-handed, or performs better outdoors.
Performance: processor names are not a head-to-head test
Secondary comparison tables identify the M36’s chipset as Exynos 1380 and the Redmi’s as Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. That gives buyers a starting point for checking app and game compatibility, but the available sources do not provide a sufficiently documented, controlled comparison to establish which phone is faster in everyday use. A benchmark number without matching test conditions, software versions and device configurations would not settle that question.

Cameras: megapixels do not establish photo quality
Comparison tables list a 50MP, 8MP and 2MP rear-camera setup for the M36, while Redmi camera details vary by source. Sensor resolution does not by itself predict detail, low-light performance, stabilization or video quality. The available evidence does not include comparable camera testing, so it cannot support a claim that one phone takes better photos.

Some third-party tables give the Redmi an 8,000mAh battery and 45W charging, but other listing details and specification fields conflict. The evidence does not establish those numbers against Xiaomi’s official specifications for the exact India model. Check the manufacturer’s regional product information and the box or seller listing for the variant you intend to buy.

- Consider the M36 if: the lower observed price matters most and you want the reported 6.7-inch 120Hz Super AMOLED display. Confirm the exact RAM and storage configuration and the current seller price.
- Consider the Redmi if: you prefer the larger screen described by comparison pages and are comfortable with the higher listed price. Confirm the exact variant and its battery, charging and camera specifications with Xiaomi or the seller.
- Wait to decide if: battery life, charging speed, camera performance or long-term updates are your deciding factors. The evidence available here does not settle those comparisons.
Neither phone is an unconditional winner on the verified information. The price snapshot favors the M36, while the Redmi listing costs more and identifies a specific 6GB/128GB configuration; feature-led decisions require checking details for the exact India variants.
