The Galaxy M34 5G has the larger stated battery: 6000mAh versus 5000mAh. Both have 120Hz Super AMOLED displays, a 50MP OIS main camera and 25W charging, according to Samsung’s India announcements. Which is the better buy depends on your priorities and today’s like-for-like price—not the historical launch offers.

What changes between the M34 and M36?
The M36 has a larger screen and newer listed chipset
The M36’s 6.7-inch screen is 0.2 inches larger diagonally than the M34’s 6.5-inch panel. Both are FHD+ Super AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates, but their announced glass protection differs: Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the M36 and Gorilla Glass 5 on the M34.

The M36 adds an explicitly stated 4K recording capability
Both phones have a 50MP OIS main camera and a 13MP front camera, but Samsung specifically states that the M36 records 4K video with both its front and rear cameras. The M34 announcement highlights Nightography and Monster Shot 2.0; the M36 announcement names Auto Night Mode, Photo Remaster and Object Eraser. These are feature descriptions, not evidence that one phone takes better photos. Samsung lists an 8MP ultrawide and 2MP camera for the M34; its M36 release describes a 50MP OIS triple-camera system without giving the other two sensors’ resolutions in the cited announcement.
The M34 has greater stated battery capacity
The M34 is specified with a 6000mAh typical battery, while the M36 is listed at 5000mAh. Both support 25W charging. Capacity alone cannot show which phone lasts longer for a particular person: screen brightness, network conditions, apps and other usage affect runtime, and the cited releases do not provide comparable battery-life tests.

The M36 has the longer announced update commitment
At launch, Samsung announced up to six generations of Android upgrades and six years of security updates for the M36. For the M34, Samsung announced up to four generations of OS upgrades and up to five years of security updates. These are launch-era commitments, not confirmation of the phones’ current software rollout status.

How to compare today’s prices fairly
- Check both phones in the same market on the same date. A launch price from 2023 or 2025 is not a reliable stand-in for a live offer.
- Match RAM and storage where possible. For example, compare 6GB + 128GB with 6GB + 128GB, not one model’s base variant with the other’s higher-storage configuration.
- Separate the listed selling price from bank discounts, exchange offers and other conditional savings. Record each offer’s eligibility rather than treating the lowest advertised figure as the standard price.
- Check the seller and exact model variant before deciding. Samsung’s announcements name sales channels, but they do not establish current stock, seller terms or today’s price.
The cited sources do not establish a current price difference between the two phones. A fair present-day comparison requires checking equivalent configurations and offer conditions at the time you plan to buy.
