On paper, the Samsung Galaxy M47 5G is the higher-specification phone. Samsung lists it with a sharper Super AMOLED FHD+ display, a third rear camera, and optical image stabilization (OIS) on its rear cameras, while the Galaxy M17e 5G has a 720×1600 PLS LCD and no rear OIS. Both list the same 6000mAh typical battery and the same software-support promise. A current price difference cannot be stated reliably. The only verified prices are the M17e’s March 2026 Indian launch prices, and Samsung’s M17e India product page showed “Not for sale” when this article was prepared.

Display and cameras
Display: resolution and panel type
The M47’s listed resolution is 1080×2340 FHD+, compared with 720×1600 HD+ on the M17e, and the M47 uses Super AMOLED where the M17e uses PLS LCD. Both list a maximum 120Hz refresh rate. Higher resolution generally means more pixels per inch for text and fine detail, and the different panel technology is a real difference in construction. Samsung’s pages do not provide tested brightness, contrast, colour accuracy, or outdoor readability for either phone, so any claim that one screen looks better in daily use would go beyond the published evidence.

Cameras: stabilization and the lens setup
The M47 has three rear cameras (50MP, 5MP, and 2MP) and a 12MP front camera. The M17e has two rear cameras (50MP and 2MP) and an 8MP front camera. The most practical difference is stabilization: Samsung’s M47 page lists OIS for its rear camera system, while Samsung’s M17e page lists no rear OIS. OIS helps reduce blur from hand movement, especially in low light and video recording. Megapixel counts and lens counts do not, on their own, indicate photo quality, so this article does not rank the cameras by image output.
Battery, weight and software support
Both phones list a 6000mAh typical battery capacity. The listing describes capacity only; it does not state runtime, charging speed, or battery-life results. The M17e weighs 199g and the M47 weighs 206g, so the M17e is the lighter handset by 7g, a difference that most buyers will notice only when holding both side by side.

Samsung states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates from first global launch for both models. The M47 product page adds a specific security update period running through 31 July 2032. Because the two phones share the same promise, support length does not separate them, but the M47’s dated end point gives buyers a concrete figure to plan around.
Price difference: what can and cannot be stated
Galaxy M17e 5G launch prices
Samsung Newsroom India announced launch prices of ₹13,999 for the 4GB/128GB version and ₹15,499 for the 6GB/128GB version in March 2026. Sales began on 20 March 2026 through Samsung.com, Amazon, and selected retail stores. These are launch figures from March 2026, not current prices.

Galaxy M47 5G price
The M47’s Samsung India product page gives a launch date of 29 June 2026 but does not state a price, and no reliable current M47 price is established by the sources available for this article. Any figure quoted for the M47 from a third-party listing should be checked against the seller’s live page before it is trusted.
Why no price gap is calculated here
Subtracting the M17e’s March 2026 launch price from an M47 price that is not established would produce a number with no reliable basis. Retail prices also move with stock, offers, and seller pricing, so a launch price is not a stable reference. The only price comparison that can be made from verified sources is the M17e’s launch pricing against its own two memory configurations.

How to check the current price and availability
- Open the Samsung India Galaxy M17e 5G product page. If it still shows “Not for sale,” Samsung is not selling the model directly at that time.
- Open the Samsung India Galaxy M47 5G product page and confirm the listed variant (the page shows 6GB/128GB) and whether a price appears.
- For the M17e, check Amazon India, since it was named as a launch sales channel. Confirm the variant (4GB/128GB or 6GB/128GB), the seller, and whether it is in stock.
- Read the seller’s warranty and return terms at checkout. The sources used for this article do not establish retailer warranty or return conditions for either model.
- Compare the final payable amount, not the listed price, because bank or store offers that change the total were not verified here.
Which phone fits which priority
- If display sharpness matters most: the M47’s FHD+ Super AMOLED panel is the listed upgrade over the M17e’s HD+ PLS LCD.
- If you shoot handheld or video often: the M47’s listed rear OIS and extra rear lens are the main camera differences on paper.
- If weight and a lower launch price are priorities: the M17e is 7g lighter and had the lower announced launch price, though its current availability needs checking first.
- If long software support is the deciding factor: both models list the same six OS generations and six years of security updates, and the M47 adds an explicit date of 31 July 2032.
Speed, gaming performance, and real-world battery endurance are not compared here, because Samsung’s listings do not provide test results for these and no independent testing is cited for either model.
