The available prices are not directly comparable, so check same-day listings for matching configurations before deciding which is the better buy.

These are manufacturer-published specifications and commitments, not independent test results. The panel type, refresh rate, capacity and listed features can help narrow a choice, but they do not establish overall screen quality, camera performance, sustained gaming speed or real-world battery life.

How the displays differ
The M17 has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 90Hz maximum refresh rate. The P4x uses a slightly larger, 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD and lists refresh rates up to 144Hz. That gives realme the higher refresh-rate ceiling, while Samsung specifies AMOLED display technology. Refresh rate describes how often the display can update; it does not by itself determine brightness, color, viewing angles or overall image quality.

realme lists a 7000mAh typical battery, with 6830mAh rated capacity, and charging up to 45W. Samsung lists a 5000mAh battery and 25W charging for the M17. On stated capacity and maximum charging wattage, the P4x has the larger figures. They are not a substitute for controlled battery-endurance or charging tests: actual runtime and charging time depend on usage and conditions, and the supplied specifications do not establish either phone’s real-world result.

Camera hardware: OIS is a feature, not a photo verdict
Samsung lists three rear cameras—50MP, 5MP and 2MP—and specifies OIS on the main camera. The P4x lists a 50MP wide camera and a 2MP monochrome camera. The M17 also lists a 13MP front camera, compared with 8MP on the P4x. These figures describe hardware; neither camera count nor megapixel resolution proves which phone takes better photos. OIS is a concrete stabilization feature on the M17’s main rear camera, but a direct comparison is needed to judge image quality in different scenes.
Software support and processor
Samsung’s launch announcement says the M17 will receive six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Treat that as Samsung’s stated commitment, not an independently verified update history. The cited official P4x sources do not establish a comparable support commitment, so the available information does not support a like-for-like policy comparison.

Samsung identifies the M17’s processor as the Exynos 1330, built on a 6nm process; realme specifies the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G for the P4x. Chipset names alone do not settle everyday responsiveness, heat management or sustained gaming performance. Those questions need comparable independent testing, which these specifications do not provide.
Price difference: the available figures are not like-for-like
Samsung’s 13 October 2025 launch announcement listed these M17 prices: ₹12,499 for 4GB/128GB, ₹13,999 for 6GB/128GB and ₹15,499 for 8GB/128GB. Samsung identified ₹12,499 as a special launch-offer net price; these are launch figures, not guaranteed current prices. The realme P4x was announced on 26 November 2025 ahead of its 4 December 2025 debut. The realme store page checked for this comparison displayed ₹26,999 alongside a struck-through ₹38,999, but the available information does not establish a matching configuration or comparable pricing terms.

For those reasons, subtracting one figure from the other would not produce a reliable current price difference. Before buying, compare live listings for the same date and storage tier, and check the seller, channel, stock and checkout conditions. Record whether a displayed amount depends on a launch deal, bank offer or other promotion.

Which phone should you consider?
- Consider the Galaxy M17 if Super AMOLED, listed OIS on the main rear camera or Samsung’s announced software-support commitment matters most to you.
- Consider the realme P4x if its larger stated battery capacity, higher maximum charging wattage or 144Hz refresh-rate ceiling better fits your priorities.
- Compare current prices before choosing on value. The reported figures come from different contexts and do not establish a same-date, same-configuration price gap.
- Look for independent, direct testing if your decision depends on photo quality, gaming performance or how long a charge lasts in your own kind of use.
