Which display is better for you?
The M17’s listed 1080 × 2340 resolution is higher than the K14x’s 1570 × 720, and its Super AMOLED panel differs from the K14x’s LCD. Those specifications make the M17 the more compelling choice if resolution and AMOLED contrast are priorities. The K14x offers the higher listed refresh rate—up to 120Hz versus 90Hz—and a slightly larger stated diagonal. Refresh rate alone does not establish how smooth the phone feels in every app.

Camera specifications: OIS versus resolution
The M17 lists a 50MP + 5MP + 2MP rear camera array with OIS and a 13MP front camera. The K14x lists a 50MP wide camera, a 2MP monochrome camera, and a 5MP front camera. On listed features, the M17 is the more relevant option if you want OIS or a higher-resolution front camera. Megapixel counts and feature lists do not prove which phone takes better photos; that requires comparable image samples and testing.
Battery, charging, and performance
OPPO specifies a 6,500mAh typical battery capacity (6,335mAh rated) and charging support up to 45W SUPERVOOC. The cited Samsung product-page passage does not provide battery capacity or charging figures, so a like-for-like specification comparison is not possible from these materials. Capacity and maximum charging support are not measures of actual endurance or charging time.

Storage and software support
Samsung’s cited 6GB/128GB product page says the M17 supports microSD cards up to 2TB. OPPO’s cited specification says a storage card is supported but does not state a maximum capacity. Check card compatibility and the exact phone variant before buying a card.
Samsung says its current plan for the M17 includes six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The two-year OS and three-year security figures reported for the K14x come from a third-party comparison page, not the cited official OPPO materials. Treat those OPPO update figures as secondary rather than assuming the two phones have equally documented support commitments. Samsung product page · Third-party comparison

The cited OPPO specification lists memory and storage configurations but no current retail price. A changing third-party price snapshot is not enough to calculate a dependable price difference. To compare offers, check the same retailer and date, match RAM and storage as closely as possible, and account for any bank, exchange, or promotional conditions separately. Samsung also notes that features, specifications, and prices may change without prior notice.
Which phone should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy M17 on paper if FHD+ resolution, Super AMOLED, listed OIS, a 13MP front camera, a stated microSD maximum, or Samsung’s stated update plan matters most.
- Choose the OPPO K14x on paper if you prioritize a 120Hz display, its listed 6,500mAh typical battery, or charging support up to 45W.
- Decide on price only after checking live listings. The available price figures do not establish a current, like-for-like gap between the two phones.
These are specification-led distinctions, not a hands-on verdict. Actual camera quality, battery endurance, screen smoothness, and performance require comparable testing.
