Which display is better?
The M17 has the sharper stated resolution and an AMOLED panel, while the G37 Power offers a higher refresh rate. Samsung specifies FHD+ at 90Hz; Motorola specifies HD+ at 120Hz. Choose the M17 if screen detail and AMOLED are priorities, or the Motorola if you prefer the smoother refresh-rate specification. Resolution and refresh rate describe different aspects of a display, so there is no single winner for every viewer.
Which phone has the bigger battery?
Motorola lists a 7000mAh typical battery, compared with Samsung’s 5000mAh typical figure. Motorola also lists 30W wired charging and 6W wired reverse charging; Samsung supports 25W charging and says the charger is sold separately. The capacity figures do not prove a specific runtime advantage: battery life depends on use and conditions, and no independent head-to-head battery test is established here.

How do the cameras compare?
Samsung lists a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), alongside 5MP and 2MP rear cameras, plus a 13MP front camera. Motorola lists a 50MP main rear camera with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) and electronic video stabilization, plus an 8MP front camera. The specifications indicate different camera setups, but without matched photo and video tests they cannot show which phone produces better results.
What are the software and durability differences?
Software support
Samsung says the M17 launched with Android 15 and One UI 7 and states a plan for six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Its product-page wording describes current plans and says they are not a commitment. Motorola’s specifications page lists Android 16 for the G37 Power but does not state a comparable support duration. The Android version alone does not establish how long updates will continue.

Protection claims
Samsung lists Gorilla Glass Victus and IP54; Motorola lists Gorilla Glass 7i, IP64 and MIL-STD-810H. These are different manufacturer claims and rating systems, not proof that either phone is waterproof or indestructible. Motorola’s hardware specifications may also vary by market.
What is the price difference in India?
There is no dependable like-for-like current price difference in the available dated figures. Samsung’s October 13, 2025 launch announcement gave offer prices by memory variant. A later-observed Samsung India purchase-page snapshot and a Motorola India family-page snapshot show separate displayed prices, but the snapshots do not establish a same-day comparison of matching variants and conditions.

Do not subtract a historical Samsung launch offer from Motorola’s separate page display and call the result today’s price difference. For a fair comparison, check both live India listings on the same date and match RAM and storage. Record the seller and whether bank, exchange or other conditional offers are included; prices and availability can change.

Choose the Galaxy M17 5G if
- You want the higher-resolution FHD+ AMOLED display rather than a higher refresh rate on an HD+ LCD.
- Samsung’s stated OS-upgrade and security-update plan matters to you, with the caveat that Samsung calls it a plan rather than a commitment.
- You prefer a listed rear-camera setup with a main camera that has OIS.
- You want the lighter of these two listed phones: Samsung gives the M17’s weight as 192g.
Choose the Moto G37 Power 5G if
- You prioritize the larger stated battery capacity and higher wired charging wattage.
- You prefer a 120Hz display specification over the M17’s FHD+ resolution and AMOLED panel.
- You need documented microSD expansion, which Motorola lists up to 1TB.
- You value the listed IP64 and MIL-STD-810H claims, while recognizing that protection has limits.
If prices are close, weigh the features you will use most: screen detail versus refresh rate, camera stabilization and extra modules versus a simpler main-camera setup, and the larger battery versus the Motorola’s higher listed weight. Do not treat a combined spec score as a substitute for those priorities.
