Which phone has the better display?
The M47 has the higher stated maximum refresh rate: 120 Hz compared with the M17’s 90 Hz. A higher refresh rate can make supported motion and scrolling appear smoother, though actual behavior depends on settings, software and content. Both are listed with FHD+ Super AMOLED displays. Samsung lists the M17 panel as 6.7 inches; its M47 page gives 16.91 cm for the full rectangle, with rounded corners affecting the usable area.
Battery capacity and charging are not the same comparison
Samsung lists typical capacities of 6,000 mAh for the M47 and 5,000 mAh for the M17. The larger stated capacity is an advantage on paper, but it does not prove longer runtime: screen settings, signal conditions, workload and other factors affect endurance.

For charging, Samsung lists 25 W for the M17 and says its charger is sold separately. The 45 W figure for the M47 comes from 91mobiles, not an official Samsung source in the material available here. Verify the M47’s supported charging rate and included adapter with Samsung or the device documentation before treating it as definitive.
Processor, memory and storage
Samsung’s M17 launch announcement names the Exynos 1330. The M47’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is listed by 91mobiles, so that processor attribution is less directly supported by the Samsung material cited here. These names alone are not a substitute for a head-to-head performance test; the available sources do not establish comparative gaming, multitasking or sustained-performance results.

The M17 launched in three 128 GB storage configurations: 4 GB, 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. Samsung’s M47 page lists an 8 GB/128 GB version and microSD expansion up to 2 TB through a hybrid SIM slot. Check the exact configuration and SIM arrangement on the listing for the specific handset you plan to buy, since availability can vary.
Camera specifications and what they do not tell you
Both phones list a 50 MP main, 5 MP and 2 MP rear-camera array, with OIS. Samsung describes the M17’s optical image stabilization as helping compensate for movement; that is a feature claim, not an independent test of photo or video quality. Matching headline megapixel counts do not prove the phones produce equivalent images.

The M17 lists a 13 MP front camera and the M47 a 12 MP front camera. That gives the M17 the higher front-camera pixel count, but megapixels alone do not establish which phone takes better selfies or handles low light better.
Software support and dates
Samsung states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for both models. Its M17 page describes the update information as current plans rather than a commitment; the M47 page says the policy can change. Samsung lists the M47 security-update period through July 31, 2032. The M17 launched with Android 15 and One UI 7, while an Android 16 manual for the M47 was listed in June 2026; launch software and later software documentation are not the same thing as a guarantee of the current installed version.

Samsung’s product-page launch date for the M47 is June 29, 2026. 91mobiles separately gives July 4, 2026 as a release or sale date, so those dates describe different milestones rather than a single confirmed availability date. Samsung announced the M17 in India on October 13, 2025.
Price difference: what is verified and what to check
Samsung India’s October 13, 2025 announcement gave these M17 launch prices. The base variant’s price included a special launch offer, so these are historical launch figures, not current quotes.
