How the screens differ
The M06 gives you more physical screen area: its 6.7-inch panel is larger than the X300 FE’s 6.31-inch screen. But size is not the same as display detail. Samsung specifies an HD+ 720 × 1600 PLS LCD with a maximum 90Hz refresh rate. vivo specifies a 2640 × 1216 AMOLED panel at 120Hz, with substantially higher resolution and a faster refresh specification.
Choose the M06 if a larger display matters more than sharpness or panel type. The X300 FE is the better fit on paper for someone who wants a compact phone with a more detailed AMOLED screen. Neither refresh rate nor resolution alone establishes how every app or game will perform.

Camera hardware: telephoto flexibility is the key difference
The M06 has a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera on the back, plus an 8MP front camera. The X300 FE’s India parameter page lists a 50MP autofocus main camera, a 50MP OIS telephoto camera, an 8MP fixed-focus wide-angle camera and a 50MP autofocus front camera. That gives the vivo more rear-camera focal-length options, especially for subjects that benefit from a dedicated telephoto lens.
Megapixel counts do not by themselves predict photo quality. The specifications establish hardware differences, not comparative image results. vivo’s launch announcement uses the phrase “50MP ZEISS super-telephoto camera,” while its detailed parameter page lists the three rear cameras separately; the figures above follow the parameter page rather than suggesting that all rear cameras are 50MP. vivo X300 FE detailed camera specifications.

Optional telephoto extender
For buyers considering the X300 FE mainly for long-distance photography, vivo announced the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 at a launch price of ₹15,999. It is sold separately with an accessories kit and is compatible only with the X300 FE. Performance, battery and charging
The phones target different performance tiers. The M06’s listed octa-core processor runs at up to 2.4GHz, and 91mobiles identifies it as the Dimensity 6300. The X300 FE uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. These specifications show a substantial difference in chipset class, but no independent benchmark comparison is established here, so they should not be converted into a specific speed or gaming-performance claim.

Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery for the M06. vivo lists the X300 FE battery at 6,500mAh typical, alongside 90W wired FlashCharge; its official store also lists 40W wireless charging. The M06 supports 25W fast charging, and Samsung says the charger is sold separately. Battery capacity and charging ratings are specifications, not a promise of a particular runtime or charging time. India prices and the actual price difference
Compare prices by configuration and date, not just by model name. vivo’s August 2026 announcement lists three X300 FE configurations. The M06 figure below is a marketplace snapshot reported by 91mobiles, not an official current Samsung price.

Using the reported ₹13,999 M06 marketplace snapshot only as a rough reference, the difference against vivo’s August 2026 prices is ₹71,000 for the 8GB/256GB X300 FE, ₹76,000 for 12GB/256GB and ₹86,000 for 12GB/512GB. These are arithmetic differences between figures with different price bases and dates—not guaranteed savings, live offers or like-for-like retailer quotes. vivo’s launch announcement had earlier listed ₹79,999 for 12GB/256GB and ₹89,999 for 12GB/512GB, with sales beginning 14 May 2026; its August 2026 announcement subsequently listed higher prices and added the 8GB/256GB option. Software support and durability details
Samsung’s India product page states that security updates for the Galaxy M06 continue through 31 March 2030. vivo’s August 2026 announcement says the X300 FE will receive five years of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates; its parameter page identifies the India software as Android 16 with OriginOS 6. These are vendor-stated support commitments, not a promise that every update arrives on the same date in every region. vivo also lists IP68/IP69 ratings for the X300 FE. Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Samsung Galaxy M06 5G if
- You want to spend far less and are comparing against a budget-phone price.
- You prefer a physically larger 6.7-inch screen over a smaller, sharper display.
- An HD+ LCD, entry-level hardware and a basic dual rear-camera setup suit your needs.
Choose the vivo X300 FE if
- You can justify flagship pricing for a compact 6.31-inch AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh.
- You want a dedicated telephoto camera as well as main and wide-angle rear cameras.
- Higher listed battery capacity, faster wired charging, wireless charging and a stronger chipset matter more than minimizing cost.
This is a budget-versus-capability decision rather than a close contest at the same price. Check current listings and the exact X300 FE memory/storage option; camera-focused buyers should also decide whether the separately sold extender is worth its additional cost.
