The Samsung Galaxy F17 5G and Galaxy M17e 5G had the same India launch prices for their shared 4GB/128GB and 6GB/128GB configurations. The choice is mainly about priorities: the F17 offers a sharper Super AMOLED screen and a more versatile rear-camera setup with OIS, while the M17e has a larger battery and a higher listed refresh rate. These are launch-price and manufacturer-specification comparisons, not current seller prices or independent performance tests.

Display: sharper detail on F17, faster listed refresh on M17e
F17: higher resolution and Super AMOLED
Samsung lists the F17 with a 1080 × 2340 FHD+ Super AMOLED panel and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Its higher resolution means more pixels than the M17e’s HD+ panel, which can matter when reading small text, viewing fine details, or watching high-resolution content. Samsung also advertises 1100 nits on the F17 product page; that is a manufacturer-listed figure, not a brightness measurement from a comparative test.
M17e: 120Hz on an HD+ PLS LCD
The M17e product page specifies a 720 × 1600 HD+ PLS LCD panel with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. A higher maximum refresh rate can make supported scrolling and animations appear smoother, while the lower resolution provides less pixel detail than the F17’s FHD+ screen. Samsung’s launch announcement also describes the M17e display as 120Hz. The panel type here follows Samsung’s product specifications, rather than secondary listings that describe it differently.

Choose based on what matters more to you: the F17’s resolution and AMOLED technology, or the M17e’s higher stated refresh-rate ceiling. The specifications alone do not establish which screen looks better to every viewer.
Cameras: F17 has OIS and more rear-camera roles
Samsung lists a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) on the F17, alongside ultra-wide and macro cameras. Its front camera is 13MP. The M17e has a 50MP + 2MP rear setup, no OIS according to Samsung’s product page, and an 8MP front camera.

On paper, the F17 offers more rear-camera options and OIS on its main camera. OIS can help stabilise a camera against small movements, but the listed hardware does not prove that the F17 takes better photos or video overall. Sensor processing, lighting and other factors also matter, and the cited specifications do not provide a controlled image-quality comparison.
Battery and charging: M17e lists greater capacity
The F17 has a listed 5,000mAh battery and 25W charging. Samsung lists a 6,000mAh battery for the M17e, a 1,000mAh higher nominal capacity. That difference does not by itself predict how long either phone lasts between charges: screen use, network conditions, software and other factors affect endurance. The cited M17e specifications do not state a charging wattage, so a charging-speed comparison cannot be made from them.

RAM, storage and software support
Both launch announcements include 128GB storage configurations with 4GB or 6GB of RAM at the same announced prices. Samsung also announced an 8GB/128GB F17 option, with no matching M17e configuration in its cited launch announcement. If you want that listed RAM tier, the F17 is the only one of the two with an announced option here.
