The Samsung Galaxy F06 5G is the budget option, launched in India at INR 9,499 for 4GB+128GB in February 2025, with a published commitment of four OS upgrades and four years of security updates. The price gap between them is large on the figures available, but those figures come from different dates and different memory configurations, so they do not give a current like-for-like difference. The sections below separate what the manufacturers published from what the prices can and cannot tell you.
Specifications side by side
Both comparisons below use manufacturer-published figures only. No independent lab test or head-to-head benchmark of these two phones was found, so none of the values here describe measured brightness, endurance, charging time, or photo quality.

Display
The two screens differ in size, panel technology, and resolution. The Galaxy F06 5G uses an HD+ LCD, which is a lower pixel count than the X300 FE’s 2640×1216 AMOLED. Samsung’s listing gives a refresh rate of up to 90Hz, while vivo lists a fixed 120Hz. The published figures show the difference in specification, but they do not show how either panel looks in use, so brightness and colour accuracy are not compared here.

Cameras
vivo publishes a dedicated telephoto lens with optical image stabilisation, and the Galaxy F06 5G does not list one. The Samsung rear setup is a 50MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor, so its camera system is simpler on paper. The front cameras also differ: 8MP on the Samsung versus 50MP with autofocus on the vivo. Megapixel counts and lens lists are hardware facts, not proof that one phone takes better photos in every situation.

Processor, battery, and charging
The chipsets sit in different performance classes. The Dimensity 6300 is the entry-level chip Samsung named for the F06 5G, while vivo lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 for the X300 FE. The battery on the vivo is larger on its typical rating, 6500mAh against 5000mAh. The charging gap is the most visible spec difference: 90W against 25W. Battery life and charge times depend on use and on the charger you own, and neither company’s figures measure either one.
Memory and storage variants
Configuration is where the comparison is most easily misread. Samsung launched the F06 5G in 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB versions. A Samsung India product page for a Galaxy F06 5G 4GB/64GB variant also exists, so the storage on a given listing depends on the exact model you are looking at. vivo’s India pages list 8GB+256GB, 12GB+256GB, and 12GB+512GB options. Check the storage and RAM printed on the product page you buy from before comparing any figures.

Software and update commitments
Samsung’s launch announcement says the Galaxy F06 5G will receive four generations of OS upgrades and four years of security updates. That is a policy Samsung stated in February 2025. It is not a verified record of the update status of any particular unit. vivo’s parameter page lists Android 16 with OriginOS 6 for the X300 FE, and it does not state an update period in the material reviewed. A matched comparison of update lifecycles is therefore not possible from these sources.
The price difference, and why it is not a current comparison
The two prices come from different sources and different dates, so they cannot be subtracted to give a current difference.

Samsung’s launch prices (February 2025)
Samsung’s India launch announcement of 12 February 2025 set introductory prices of INR 9,499 for the 4GB+128GB version and INR 10,999 for 6GB+128GB. These were launch prices, not a standing list price. The announcement is still the official source for them, but it is about 20 months old as of this writing, and any launch offer it mentioned has likely ended.
vivo’s India store prices (crawled 7 October 2026)
The vivo Official E-Store India displayed the X300 FE at ₹84,999 for 8GB+256GB and ₹89,999 for 12GB+256GB when it was checked on 7 October 2026. Store prices change frequently, and a displayed price is not a guaranteed price at checkout.

What the figures do and do not show
Taken at face value, the lowest figure on the vivo store sits ₹75,500 above Samsung’s lowest launch price. That number compares a February 2025 launch price for a 4GB variant with an October 2026 store display for an 8GB variant. It is not a price gap you can rely on. To make a real comparison, look up both phones on the day you buy, in the same memory configuration, from the same seller, and include any bank or exchange offers.

- Lower price and Samsung’s stated update policy: the Galaxy F06 5G is the one to research. Confirm the current price and the variant you can buy, and check Samsung’s current update information for that model.
- Higher-resolution AMOLED display, telephoto hardware, faster charging, and larger memory options: the vivo X300 FE is the one to research. Confirm that the variant and price on the store match what you want.

Optional accessory for the vivo X300 FE
vivo states that the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 is compatible with the X300 FE and must be bought separately; it is not in the box. The vivo launch page does not give its Indian retail price or stock status, so check those on vivo’s site before assuming it is available.
