They launched at $229.99 in 2022, but that is not a verified August 2026 street price. Buy them today only when the actual listing is clearly discounted, the battery and warranty are trustworthy, and you value comfort more than the newest features.
What are the $230 earbuds?
These are Samsung’s Galaxy Buds2 Pro, the company’s flagship true-wireless earbuds at launch in 2022. Their original list price was $229.99. They combine active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, silicone ear tips and Samsung-specific software features in a compact in-ear design.

The price needs context: a 2022 launch MSRP is not proof that a seller’s August 2026 listing is a good deal. Older stock may have a worn battery, expired warranty or limited returns.
Why the Galaxy Buds2 Pro feel so comfortable
Smaller, lighter housing
Reviews found the Buds2 Pro smaller and lighter than the original Galaxy Buds Pro. The reported weight is 5.5 grams per earbud, according to contemporary coverage. Their low-profile shape sits inside the outer ear rather than projecting prominently.

Ventilation reduces the plugged-up sensation
A larger external vent is intended to reduce pressure and the occluded feeling that some sealed earbuds create. That can make speech, walking and long listening sessions feel more natural. The trade-off is that a less sealed sensation can allow more outside sound through when audio is paused.
Fit still depends on your ears
Comfort is not universal. Ear-canal diameter, outer-ear shape, insertion angle, tip material and sensitivity to pressure matter more than a reviewer’s result. The matte finish is easier to grip, and the box includes multiple tip sizes, but no earbud can guarantee a pain-free fit for everyone.
“Never taking them off” is not the same as all-day wear
The Buds2 Pro can be comfortable for extended listening, commuting or desk work, but the headline should be read as enthusiasm, not medical advice. Remove them for regular breaks, keep the tips clean and dry, moderate volume and stop if you feel pain, irritation, pressure or hearing discomfort. Do not try to “break in” earbuds that hurt.

A practical fit test
- Start with the smallest tip that still creates a stable seal.
- Insert each earbud by gently rotating it into place; do not force it deeply into the canal.
- Wear them for 15 to 30 minutes before judging comfort.
- Walk, turn your head and speak to check for movement and pressure.
- Test the left and right ears separately; they may need different tip sizes.
- If the outer ear aches, try another tip or angle. Persistent pain is a reason to stop using them.
Sound quality
The Buds2 Pro deliver an enjoyable, detailed tuning with firm bass and good separation for everyday music, podcasts and video. Their strongest experience is on a Samsung Galaxy phone, where Samsung’s app, codec and device integration are designed to work together.
Samsung promoted 24-bit and high-bitrate capabilities, but the audible benefit depends on the phone, supported codec, source recording and listening environment. It should not be treated as guaranteed lossless or studio-quality playback.
On other Android phones and on iPhone, basic Bluetooth audio works, but some advanced controls and ecosystem features may be unavailable or less useful. Check the current app and device-compatibility requirements before buying.

- EXCEPTIONAL AUDIO: Catch details like never before. Designed with a High-Res Audio¹ 24-bit hi-fi codec, the latest Galaxy earbuds maintain the integrity of your favorite audio over Bluetooth.
- TWO-WAY SPEAKER: Enjoy every audio experience to the fullest with two speakers in both Buds, including a tweeter for rich highs and a woofer for deep, full lows.
- HD VOICE: Enjoy clear phone calls with Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Galaxy S26 Series² —they work together to deliver crisp and clear conversations.
- ANC 2.0: Wherever you go, Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation 2.0³ intelligently adapts in real time to provide stronger, smoother noise cancellation wherever you go.
- OPTIMIZED COMFORT: Enjoy that just-right fit, with an improved, ear-hugging design and changeable ear tips.
ANC and awareness mode
ANC is useful against steady low-frequency noise such as engines, air conditioning and train rumble. It is less effective against voices, sudden sounds and irregular street noise, and its performance depends heavily on getting a good tip seal.

That may be pleasant indoors, but people who want maximum isolation on an airplane or busy street may prefer a more tightly sealed design. Comfort and isolation are partly competing goals here.
Samsung-only advantages—and the important limits
- Galaxy integration: Samsung phones provide the fullest access to app customization and ecosystem features such as compatible device switching, 360 Audio and finding tools.
- Basic Bluetooth: Playback is possible with non-Samsung Android phones and iPhones, but the feature set is narrower.
- No conventional multipoint: Contemporary reviews report that the Buds2 Pro lack true Bluetooth multipoint. Samsung’s ecosystem switching is not equivalent to seamless universal switching between any phone and laptop.
- Controls and voice detection: Touch controls and automatic voice-detection behavior may suit some users and annoy others; both require testing in the app.
Battery, age and buying risk
The Buds2 Pro are a 2022 product. Battery capacity naturally declines with storage and use, so a new-looking clearance pair is not necessarily equivalent to fresh stock. Used and open-box units may also arrive with missing tips, cosmetic wear, pairing problems, no manufacturer warranty or a short return window.

Alternatives by priority
| If you prioritize | Consider | Why it may fit better | Important trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apple integration | Apple AirPods Pro | Designed for iPhone, iPad and Mac continuity. | Android users lose much of the ecosystem benefit; compare the current generation and price. |
| ANC and broad compatibility | Sony WF-series | Strong focus on noise cancellation and sound customization. | Fit is individual and may feel less unobtrusive. |
| Maximum noise cancellation | Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds | Prioritizes powerful ANC. | Usually less compelling if lightweight comfort and price are the main goals. |
| Secure ear-hook fit | Shure AONIC 215 | Different fit approach that some listeners find secure and comfortable. | The reviewed model lacks ANC and some expected modern controls; its MSRP was $229. |
| Older premium ANC comparison | Jabra Elite 85t | Contemporary reviews praised comfort and ANC. | Launch-era reports included intrusive popping and it is also an older product. |
| Open-ear gaming | Asus ROG Cetra Open | Open design avoids sealing the ear canal; listed at $229.99. | Reviews criticize its bulky case and value, and open earbuds provide less isolation. |
Bottom line: comfort alone does not justify $230 in 2026
The Galaxy Buds2 Pro earned their comfort reputation for good reason: a smaller, lighter body, low-profile fit and ventilation make them easier to wear than many sealed earbuds. But comfort is personal, the best features favor Galaxy phones, there is no universal multipoint and every 2022 unit carries battery-age risk. Buy them when a reputable seller offers a genuinely discounted, returnable pair and your Galaxy phone makes the ecosystem useful. At the original price, compare newer earbuds first.
