There is no clear winner between the Samsung Galaxy Book6 and Dell XPS 14 without comparing exact configurations. The Book6 family includes a lower-cost base model, a premium Pro and an Ultra; Dell’s XPS 14 also varies by screen and components. For a U.S. entry-level option, Samsung announced a 14-inch Book6 starting at $799.99. The XPS 14 is worth considering if you want Dell’s listed OLED touchscreen option. Check the full model number, price and configuration available in your country before deciding.
First, identify which Galaxy Book6 you mean
“Galaxy Book6” names a family rather than one fixed laptop. The base Book6, Book6 Pro and Book6 Ultra differ in display, weight, ports and storage expansion. Samsung’s U.S. announcement on August 31, 2026, describes a new 14-inch entry configuration starting at $799.99, with Amazon availability beginning September 21 and Samsung.com availability October 6, 2026. Those dates and the announced starting price do not guarantee current stock or price.

That entry configuration should not be conflated with Samsung’s broader lineup specification table. The announcement lists Intel Core Series 3 (Core 3 or Core 5), 8GB or 16GB of memory, and 256GB or 512GB of storage. The broader table lists Intel Core Ultra 5 or 7 and 16GB LPDDR5X for the base lineup. Confirm the processor and memory on the exact listing; do not assume one set of specifications applies to every 14-inch Book6.

Which screen is the better fit?
Choose the base Book6 for a matte IPS display
The base 14-inch Book6’s listed 1920 × 1200 IPS anti-glare panel, rated at 350 nits, is the straightforward option if you prefer a matte screen and do not need touch. Samsung’s separate Pro model is the relevant Book6 comparison if you want a premium 14-inch touchscreen: its listed AMOLED panel is touch-enabled.
Choose the XPS 14 if you want Dell’s OLED touchscreen option
Dell’s U.S. comparison lists both a 2K LCD non-touch display and a 2.8K OLED touch display for the XPS 14. Match the display to the specific configuration you are buying; the family’s OLED option does not mean every XPS 14 includes it.

Memory, storage and upgradeability matter more than family maximums
Samsung says Book6 memory cannot be upgraded after purchase, so choose enough RAM at checkout for the apps and multitasking you expect to use. Its product page describes configurations with storage up to 1TB and an expansion slot, but the available slot depends on the model. Samsung’s specification table lists a second, 2230-only SSD slot for the base 14-inch Book6. The 14-inch Pro has no second SSD slot in that table, while the 16-inch Pro does.
Dell’s stated maximums of 64GB memory and 4TB storage apply to its premium XPS positioning across configurations. Verify the actual XPS 14 SKU’s installed memory and SSD capacity rather than buying on a lineup-wide maximum.

Ports and Galaxy-device features
Book6: more built-in connection types on the listed base model
Samsung lists USB-C, USB-A, HDMI, microSD, RJ45, a security lock slot and a headphone/microphone connection on the base Book6. If you regularly connect wired networking, an SD card or USB-A accessories, check that the exact configuration retains the ports you need.
Book6: useful extras if you already own compatible Galaxy devices
Samsung’s Book6 page lists Multi Control, Storage Share, Second Screen and Quick Share. These features can make a Book6 more convenient alongside compatible Galaxy phones or tablets; they are ecosystem benefits, not advantages for every Windows laptop buyer. Check device compatibility and software requirements before treating a feature as essential.

- Choose the base Galaxy Book6 if the U.S. entry model’s price, matte IPS display and listed built-in ports suit your needs. Check the precise processor, RAM and storage configuration before ordering.
- Consider the Galaxy Book6 Pro 14-inch if you want a Samsung laptop with a touch AMOLED display. Samsung lists it at 1.23 kg, with 16GB or 32GB RAM and 512GB or 1TB storage; regional availability and configurations can vary.
- Consider the Dell XPS 14 if you prefer Dell’s listed 2.8K OLED touchscreen option or its XPS configuration and design. Confirm the screen, price, ports and installed components on the exact SKU.
- Do not choose based on advertised battery hours alone. Samsung’s and Dell’s claims use unlike descriptions and configurations, and do not amount to a same-method comparison.
What to check before buying
- Match the exact model and country. Confirm whether the Samsung is the base Book6, Pro or Ultra, and whether the Dell listing is the 2026 XPS 14 configuration you intend to buy.
- Compare current prices and included specifications. Check the seller’s current price, processor, installed memory, SSD capacity and return terms; launch pricing and dated review examples are not live quotes.
- Confirm the display and weight. Verify resolution, panel type, touch support and configuration weight rather than relying on a family-level label.
- Check upgrade and connection needs. Establish whether memory is fixed, whether the specific model has a second SSD slot, and whether its built-in ports fit your accessories.
- Factor in your devices. If you use compatible Galaxy products, confirm Samsung’s ecosystem features work with them and matter enough to affect your choice.
Samsung notes that specifications vary by model and market. Dell’s cited comparison is U.S.-focused; configurations and availability elsewhere may differ.
