The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G has the larger display, higher listed refresh rate and bigger battery; the Samsung Galaxy A57 5G comparison variant lists three rear cameras, including macro and ultrawide. Both list a 50 MP main camera. Neither is a clear all-round winner from specifications alone, and the available India price snapshot is not a like-for-like in-stock offer.
How their headline specifications compare
The figures below come from an India-facing comparison listing and TECNO’s Mexico specification page, so local versions may differ. Samsung’s comparison listing also reports a 256 GB configuration.

Sources: 91mobiles comparison listing, TECNO Mexico specifications, and Gadgets360 comparison. The display panels and source regions differ, so these are listed specifications rather than a controlled display test. Check the exact local model and warranty: an IP rating does not mean a phone is damage-proof.

On listed capacity and refresh rate, TECNO leads: its Mexico page specifies a 6.78-inch, 144 Hz display and a 6,500 mAh battery. The Samsung comparison listing gives 6.7 inches, 120 Hz and 5,000 mAh. TECNO’s panel is slightly larger, and its battery is rated 1,500 mAh higher. Those capacity figures alone do not establish longer real-world battery life; usage, settings and network conditions affect endurance.

Which has the better cameras?
The specification lists give both phones a 50 MP primary rear camera, but the configurations differ. Samsung’s listed setup adds a 12 MP ultrawide and 5 MP macro. TECNO’s official Mexico page lists a 50 MP camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8 MP ultrawide. Samsung therefore has more listed rear modules and a higher-resolution ultrawide on paper, while TECNO explicitly lists OIS for its main camera. Camera counts and megapixels do not establish which takes better photos; the available sources do not provide a matched camera test.
Processor, memory and software: what the listings establish
The sources identify Samsung’s processor as Exynos 1680 and TECNO’s as MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G. A model name by itself is not a reliable speed comparison: performance depends on the workload and test method. Although 91mobiles lists Geekbench multi-core scores of 4,540 for Samsung and 3,200 for TECNO, the reviewed material does not establish matching methodology or a reproducible independent head-to-head test, so those numbers should not be treated as a definitive ranking.
TECNO’s Mexico page lists 8 GB or 12 GB of physical RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of storage. The Samsung comparison entry shows 256 GB, while other Samsung configurations depend on market. Confirm the exact SKU before comparing prices, and distinguish physical RAM from any virtual or extended-memory figure in an advertisement.

The listed software versions are Android 16 with One UI 8.5 for Samsung and Android 16 with HiOS 16 for TECNO. Which interface suits you is a preference question. The cited sources do not establish a comparable software-update support duration, so check the manufacturer’s current regional commitment rather than inferring it from the version number.

In the checked India-facing 91mobiles listing snapshot, the Galaxy A57 5G was shown at ₹58,999 and out of stock; the POVA 8 Pro 5G was shown at ₹49,999 through Flipkart. The displayed difference is ₹9,000, but it is not a reliable like-for-like shopping comparison: one entry was out of stock, and listings can change. Treat these as snapshot prices, not guaranteed transaction prices or global pricing. Check current stock, seller, storage and local taxes before buying.
For separate launch-price context, TechRadar reports the Galaxy A57 at US$549 for 8 GB/128 GB and US$609 for 8 GB/256 GB in the US; £529 for 8 GB/256 GB and £699 for 12 GB/512 GB in the UK; and AU$749 for 8 GB/128 GB and AU$849 for 8 GB/256 GB in Australia. These are reported launch prices, not current offers. The reviewed sources do not establish comparable TECNO launch prices for those countries.

Which one should you choose?
- Consider the TECNO if a larger, higher-refresh-rate display and higher rated battery capacity are your priorities, and its local price and software suit you.
- Consider the Samsung if the listed three-camera configuration, including a macro camera and higher-resolution ultrawide, better matches what you want. The module list alone does not establish superior image quality.
- Before deciding, compare the same RAM and storage tier, check regional specifications and current stock, and look for independent tests relevant to your use. TechRadar’s reviewed testing concerns the Galaxy A57; the sources here do not establish a controlled review comparing both phones.
There is no evidence-based universal winner in these listings. Your best choice depends on the exact local variant, current price, software preference and the features you value most.
