What is the price difference?
The official prices available here are not directly comparable. Samsung announced a US unlocked starting price of $549.99 for the Galaxy A57, with US availability beginning April 9, 2026. Motorola UK displayed the 16GB/512GB Signature at £850, reduced from £900, on its product page at the time checked. The Motorola figure is a UK promotional listing for a specific configuration; it may change. See Samsung’s US announcement and Motorola UK’s product page for those market-specific details.
Because the figures use different currencies, markets, and storage configurations, subtracting them would not reveal a meaningful price gap. For a fair local comparison, check both prices in the same country on the same date and match storage capacity. Carrier offers, retailer discounts, and regional variants can change the result.

Where the Motorola Signature has an advantage
Processor and display
Motorola lists a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, while Samsung lists an Exynos 1680. That makes the Signature the higher-tier processor on paper, but the specifications alone do not establish how much faster it is in everyday use or demanding tasks. No controlled head-to-head benchmark is available here.
The Signature’s 6.8-inch display is slightly larger than the A57’s 6.7-inch screen, and Motorola lists a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. That peak rate is a specification, not a guarantee that every app or setting will run at that rate.

More camera focal-length coverage
The Signature includes a dedicated 3x optical periscope telephoto camera. The A57’s third rear camera is a 5MP macro module, so its listed camera system does not offer the same dedicated telephoto option. This is a hardware comparison, not a claim that one phone takes better photos overall: megapixel counts and lens types do not establish image quality.
Charging and stated update period
Motorola lists up to 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Samsung’s launch information lists 45W wired charging for the A57. The Signature therefore has higher listed charging rates and wireless charging in its specifications; actual charging time can depend on the charger, settings, temperature, and other conditions. Battery capacity figures likewise do not establish real-world endurance.

Motorola states that the Signature can receive up to seven years of OS upgrades and security patches. Samsung promises six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the A57. These are manufacturer support commitments; they do not mean updates arrive at the same time on every device or in every market.

The A57 is the more sensible pick when its matched local price is substantially lower and you prefer Samsung’s software ecosystem. Its published six-year security-update commitment is still a long support period, even though Motorola’s stated maximum is one year longer. You give up the Signature’s listed telephoto camera, higher-tier processor, faster charging specifications, and wireless charging.

Choose the Signature if those features matter enough to justify its local premium. In particular, it is the clearer fit for someone who wants a dedicated optical telephoto camera or wireless charging alongside the faster listed wired charging. Choose the A57 when the savings matter more than those hardware differences.

How to make a fair local comparison
- Match the market and storage. Check the manufacturers or authorized retailers in your country, and compare the same storage tier rather than a starting-price model against a higher-capacity configuration.
- Compare the features you will use. Consider screen size and refresh rate, whether you need a dedicated telephoto lens, wired and wireless charging, protection ratings, and the stated update period.
- Separate claims from measured results. The listed processor models, camera modules, battery capacities, and charging wattages are specifications. They do not prove comparative speed, photo quality, or battery life; look for reliable tests of those outcomes if they are decisive to your purchase.
- Check the final terms. Confirm the current price, exact regional model, included charger, protection conditions, and warranty before buying. Promotional prices and specifications may differ across markets.
