The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G has the more clearly stated long-term software commitment; the cited Motorola Edge 70 Fusion variants have a larger battery and higher-refresh display. The exact Motorola specifications depend on market, and the available UK, Australian and Japanese prices are not a like-for-like current price comparison. Check the locally sold configuration before choosing.
What differs most between the Galaxy A57 and Edge 70 Fusion?
Samsung’s Galaxy A57 5G launched with Android 16 and One UI 8.5, a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display with up to 120 Hz refresh rate, and a 5,000 mAh typical-capacity battery. Motorola’s cited Edge 70 Fusion variants have a roughly 6.8-inch display with up to 144 Hz refresh rate and a 7,000 mAh battery. Those capacity and refresh-rate figures describe hardware specifications, not a matched test of battery life or display quality.

The biggest qualification is regional variation: Motorola lists different processors in the US and Japan. Samsung also notes that memory and storage configurations vary by region and carrier. Confirm the exact model and storage tier available to you before comparing listings.

Which phone has the better software-support commitment?
Samsung publishes the broader commitment: up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates for supported Galaxy devices, including this launch family. Samsung cautions that availability and timing can vary by model and market. Motorola’s US support page lists security updates for its specified Edge 70 Fusion variant through February 2031. That is an end date for security updates, not an equivalent promise about the number of Android version upgrades.

For a purchase decision, check the exact regional model’s support information and distinguish OS upgrades from security patches. The cited Motorola security date applies to the listed US variant.
Does the Edge 70 Fusion’s larger battery mean longer battery life?
Motorola’s cited specifications list 7,000 mAh, compared with Samsung’s 5,000 mAh typical capacity (4,905 mAh rated minimum). The Motorola US page also lists charging up to 68 W. These figures suggest a hardware advantage in battery capacity and a stated charging rate for Motorola, but they do not establish how long either phone lasts in everyday use or how quickly it charges under comparable conditions. Usage, settings, network conditions and charging conditions affect results.

Which display and cameras should you compare?
Display
The A57’s listed display is 6.7 inches and up to 120 Hz. The Edge 70 Fusion is listed at 6.8 inches in the US and 6.78 inches in Japan, with 2,772 × 1,272 resolution and up to 144 Hz. A higher maximum refresh rate can enable smoother motion when supported, but the numbers alone do not establish which screen looks better; display technology, tuning and usage matter too.

Cameras
Samsung lists a 50 MP wide, 12 MP ultra-wide and 5 MP macro rear-camera setup. Motorola’s US page lists a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 13 MP ultra-wide camera with macro vision. Megapixel counts and camera features do not establish comparative photo quality, and no direct camera test between these exact variants is established here.

Durability
Samsung lists IP68. Motorola’s US page lists IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H claims. These are manufacturer-reported ratings and claims tied to stated test conditions; they should not be read as a guarantee against damage in every environment or as permission to use a device beyond those conditions.
What is the price difference?
There is no single defensible current price difference without a country, date and matching configuration. The figures below are launch or local list prices from different sources and dates, not a live comparison or an offer for the same storage tier.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsHow to choose between them
- Prioritize published long-term support: the A57 has Samsung’s stated up-to-six-generation OS/One UI and up-to-six-year security commitment for supported devices.
- Prioritize stated battery capacity or refresh rate: the cited Edge 70 Fusion variants list 7,000 mAh and up to 144 Hz, compared with 5,000 mAh typical and up to 120 Hz for the A57.
- Check the precise Motorola variant: the US listing specifies Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, while the Japan store specifies Snapdragon 7s Gen 3. Do not assume a listing from another market matches the phone sold locally.
- Compare the price only after matching the purchase: use the same market, date, storage tier and sales conditions; the launch-price examples above do not yield a universal price gap.
Samsung’s official launch specifications and support language are in its Galaxy A57 announcement. Motorola’s regional details appear on its US support page and Japan store listing; Motorola notes that specifications may vary by market.
