Which phone is better for the display?
The A56 has the larger listed screen at 6.7 inches, while OPPO lists the Reno16’s panel as 16.05 cm and gives its resolution as 2640 × 1216. Which phone has the more useful camera setup?
The camera hardware points to different priorities. OPPO lists a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera, which gives the Reno16 a stated optical-zoom option for distant subjects. Samsung instead lists a 5MP macro camera alongside its 50MP main camera with OIS and 12MP ultrawide. The Reno16 also has a higher-resolution 50MP autofocus front camera, compared with the A56’s 12MP front camera.
These specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos or video. No comparable head-to-head camera test is established by the cited sources, so choose by the camera types you expect to use rather than an assumed image-quality winner.
Does Reno16’s larger battery mean longer battery life?
OPPO lists a 6700mAh typical battery and 80W SUPERVOOC charging for the Reno16, and says a charger is included. Samsung lists a 5000mAh typical battery for the A56. Those figures give the Reno16 the larger stated capacity and higher listed charging wattage, but they do not by themselves prove longer real-world battery life or a particular charging time. Comparable endurance and charge-time results are not established by the cited product pages.

Which phone has the clearer software-support commitment?
Samsung’s India product page promises up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the Galaxy A56. OPPO lists ColorOS 16.0 for the India Reno16, but the cited India details do not give a support duration that can be directly compared with Samsung’s commitment. That limitation applies to the reviewed India page; it should not be read as proof that OPPO makes no support commitment in any market.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy A56 5G if
- You want the lower listed India price for the 8GB/256GB configuration.
- You prefer the larger listed display and want Samsung’s stated OS and security support duration.
- A main, ultrawide and macro camera arrangement suits your use better than a dedicated telephoto camera.
Choose the OPPO Reno16 5G if
- You value a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto camera and a 50MP autofocus selfie camera.
- You prefer the larger stated battery capacity and higher listed charging wattage.
- You want the higher-resolution panel listed in OPPO’s India specifications and are comfortable paying the observed price premium.
There is no established comparative benchmark, battery-endurance test, photo test or durability test in the cited material. The practical choice therefore comes down to the live price and the hardware or software priorities above, not a measured overall-performance winner.
