The Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G has the stronger hardware specification sheet, with a larger 144 Hz display, a 6,500 mAh battery and 90 W wired charging. The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G is the better fit if you value Samsung’s stated longer software support, IP67 protection or a lower listed price. In an India marketplace snapshot checked on October 7, 2026, the A56 was listed at ₹33,158 and the Edge 70 Pro at ₹36,999—a ₹3,841 difference, but at different retailers and without confirmed matching configurations.

How the specifications compare

The figures below come from Samsung’s India product specifications and Motorola’s UK support specifications. Motorola explicitly notes that specifications may vary by market, so check the exact model sold where you live.

Which one is faster and better for gaming?

The Edge 70 Pro is the hardware-forward choice on the listed processor specifications: it uses a Dimensity 8500 Extreme, while the A56 comparison listing identifies an Exynos 1580. That points to the Motorola as the stronger platform on paper, but it does not establish a specific real-world speed advantage in every app or game. No controlled benchmark comparison is cited here, so treat the chip names as a specification comparison rather than a guaranteed performance result.

For gaming, the Motorola also pairs its chipset with a display that supports up to 144 Hz, compared with up to 120 Hz on the A56. Whether a game uses those higher refresh rates depends on the game and its settings.

Which display is better?

The Motorola’s screen is larger at 6.8 inches, has a higher stated resolution of 2772 × 1272, and supports up to 144 Hz. The A56’s 17.01 cm FHD+ display supports up to 120 Hz. Based on those specifications, the Edge 70 Pro offers more screen area and a higher refresh-rate ceiling.

Battery life and charging: what the claims establish

The Edge 70 Pro has a larger stated typical battery capacity—6,500 mAh versus 5,000 mAh—and supports 90 W wired charging. Motorola says the 90 W claim requires a Motorola 90 W TurboPower charger or higher, sold separately; check local compatibility. Samsung lists charging up to 45 W for the A56.

Those numbers describe resolution and listed features, not which phone takes better photos. Megapixel counts alone do not determine image quality, and the available sources do not establish a controlled head-to-head camera result. If camera output is your deciding factor, look for comparable sample photos taken in the conditions you care about rather than choosing by megapixels alone.

Software support and durability

Samsung states that the Galaxy A56 will receive up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Motorola’s UK support page states up to three years of OS upgrades and security patches for the Edge 70 Pro. On those published commitments, Samsung has the longer stated support period. Because Motorola’s specification page is UK-specific and says specifications may vary by market, check the support terms for the exact regional model before buying.

The A56 is rated IP67, while Motorola lists IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H for the Edge 70 Pro. Samsung specifies a metal frame and Gorilla Glass Victus+; Motorola lists Gorilla Glass 7i. These are manufacturer-listed ratings and materials, not a promise that either phone is damage-proof. Protection ratings should not be treated as interchangeable guarantees against every kind of water, dust or impact exposure.

Price difference in India

The 91mobiles comparison page listed the Galaxy A56 at ₹33,158 on Amazon and the Edge 70 Pro at ₹36,999 on Flipkart, checked October 7, 2026. The Motorola listing is ₹3,841 higher by arithmetic. This is a retailer snapshot, not a guaranteed current price or a like-for-like offer: the listings are from different stores, and the comparison does not establish that the RAM and storage configurations match.

Before deciding, compare the exact memory and storage variant, seller, stock and current terms at checkout. The listed prices may change, and they do not establish prices outside India.

Which phone should you choose?

  • Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Pro 5G if you prioritize the higher-spec listed processor, larger and faster-refreshing display, greater battery capacity, 90 W charging, or the listed 50 MP ultrawide and front cameras.
  • Choose the Samsung Galaxy A56 5G if Samsung’s stated six OS generations and six years of security updates matter most, or if its lower listing in the cited India snapshot is more appealing.
  • Check your local variant before buying if you rely on particular memory/storage configurations, regional 5G compatibility or market-specific support terms; the Motorola specification cited here is for the UK.
