The Galaxy M56 5G offers a larger display, Samsung-stated 45 W charging and a longer announced software-support commitment. The Galaxy A54 5G has a documented IP67 rating. Samsung’s India launch prices were lower for the M56, but those historic prices do not show which phone costs less today.

What the specification differences mean
Screen size and display
The M56 is the larger-screen option: Samsung lists its display as 17.11 cm, compared with the A54’s 6.4-inch screen. Both have a 120 Hz refresh-rate headline in the cited specifications. The M56’s listed panel is Super AMOLED Plus; Samsung described the A54’s as Super AMOLED.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsCameras
Both phones have a 50 MP rear camera with OIS listed in Samsung’s cited materials. Their other rear cameras differ: the A54 announcement lists a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 5 MP camera, while the M56 specifications list 8 MP and 2 MP cameras alongside the 50 MP camera. These numbers and camera counts do not establish which phone takes better photos. The cited A54 announcement details do not state a front-camera resolution; Samsung lists 12 MP for the M56.
#1 Best Overall
- Equipped with a 6.4″ Super AMOLED display that supports a smooth 120 Hz refresh rate and offers up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness, the Galaxy A54 5G delivers vibrant visuals, rich contrast, and excellent readability even in bright outdoor conditions.
Battery and charging
Samsung lists a 5,000 mAh battery for both models. Its M56 announcement also states 45 W charging, while the cited A54 announcement does not give a charging wattage. That is not enough information to compare charging speeds fully, and battery capacity alone does not determine real-world endurance.
Protection against water, dust and drops
Samsung’s A54 announcement specifies an IP67 rating and Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back. Samsung lists Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both sides of the M56, but the cited M56 launch source does not establish an IP rating. Glass protection claims are not a substitute for a water- and dust-resistance rating.

Software support
At launch, Samsung announced four Android OS upgrades for the A54 and six generations of Android upgrades plus six years of security updates for the M56. These are launch commitments, not a record of updates already delivered or a calculation of support remaining today. That requires checking the update history and applicable model or region schedule.
