The Galaxy A37 5G has a verified U.S. launch price of $449.99, while the official realme pages reviewed here do not establish a comparable price for the 16 Pro 5G. That means there is no reliable price difference to quote without choosing a country, storage tier, seller and date. On specs, Samsung publishes a defined software-support commitment and an IP68 rating; realme lists a larger battery, faster charging and higher-resolution cameras. Neither set of specifications proves which phone takes better photos or lasts longer in everyday use.
Price difference: what can be compared
Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $449.99 for the Galaxy A37 5G, with U.S. availability beginning April 9, 2026. This is the announced launch price, not a live October 2026 offer. The announcement lists 6GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB configurations, but the starting price does not identify which configuration a particular retailer currently sells. Samsung Newsroom U.S.

The realme Global specifications and product pages cited below do not state a matching price. A numeric difference would therefore compare unlike or unverified offers. Before choosing on price, compare the same country, memory and storage tier, seller, warranty terms and purchase date. Search-result prices for other markets are not confirmed current retailer offers and should not be treated as a reliable comparison.

Which phone has the better display?
The realme panel is slightly larger on paper at 6.78 inches, versus Samsung’s 6.7-inch display. Samsung specifies FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz; the cited realme specification page gives 450 PPI but does not establish the same refresh-rate figure in the material reviewed. realme’s product page advertises 6500-nit peak brightness, but the figure’s measurement conditions are not established here, so it should not be used as a direct brightness win over Samsung.
Camera hardware: more megapixels do not settle photo quality
realme lists a 200MP main camera with 2-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), plus an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP selfie camera. Samsung lists a 50MP wide, 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro rear setup, with a 12MP front camera. The realme therefore has higher stated resolution for its main and front cameras, while Samsung lists a separate macro camera. Resolution and camera count alone do not establish real-world image quality; there is no matched camera test in the cited evidence to declare a winner.

Battery capacity and charging
realme lists a 7,000mAh typical battery (6,830mAh rated) and 80W Ultra Charge. Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical battery and 45W charging support, with the charger sold separately. These figures suggest realme offers more battery capacity and a higher charging specification, but they do not establish comparative screen-on time, days per charge or charging time. Actual results depend on use and conditions.

Water and dust protection
Samsung lists IP68 for the A37. realme advertises IP69 Pro-level water resistance for the 16 Pro, but regional configurations should be checked before relying on that claim. Different IP ratings are not a complete comparison of drop resistance, repairability or warranty coverage; review the local model’s terms.

Updates
Samsung states that the A37 receives up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. “Up to” is Samsung’s published commitment; it is not a guarantee that every upgrade arrives on the same schedule in every region. The realme Global specifications page cited here does not state an equivalent support duration, which is not evidence by itself that realme offers less support.

The $449.99 figure and April 9, 2026 availability date apply to Samsung’s U.S. announcement, not every market. realme lists regional network versions and says band support and functions can depend on region and carrier. Its specifications also say eSIM is supported in Europe and NFC availability depends on region. Check the exact model number and carrier compatibility where you plan to use the phone.

- Carrier: This phone is locked to Tracfone, which means this device can only be used on the Tracfone wireless network. A Tracfone plan is required to activate this device. Activating is easy, upon receipt go to Tracfone Website and select “Activate” and follow the prompts.

- Premium Durability & Longevity: Built to last with an IP68 water/dust resistance rating and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+. Stay current with up to 6 generations of OS upgrades and 6 years of security maintenance.
For realme, the specification page also warns that a screen protector with poor light transmission may block the hidden light-sensor hole and affect normal use. Confirm a protector is suitable for the exact model before buying it.
Which should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy A37 5G if
- You want Samsung’s published U.S. launch price as a reference point and can verify a suitable current local offer.
- You value Samsung’s stated update commitment and the IP68 rating listed for the phone.
- You prefer its listed camera setup, including a dedicated 5MP macro camera.
Consider the realme 16 Pro 5G if
- It is officially available and competitively priced for your market and configuration.
- You prioritize its larger stated battery capacity and 80W charging specification.
- You want a 200MP OIS main camera and 50MP front camera on paper, while recognizing that those figures do not establish better photos.
There is no source-backed universal winner or numeric price gap here: the price evidence is U.S.-specific for Samsung and missing for realme, while the camera and battery claims are specifications rather than matched tests. Make the decision using a same-market quote, local warranty, carrier compatibility and the features you actually value.
