The Moto G Max 5G offers a larger rated battery, stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headset jack. For price, the available comparison shows India Amazon listing snapshots—not a live or fixed price comparison—and Samsung’s U.S. launch price should not be compared directly with rupees.

Samsung’s specifications and U.S. launch details are from its U.S. announcement, and Motorola’s specifications are from its U.S. support page. The India prices and the 45W A37 charging figure come from the side-by-side 91mobiles comparison. Motorola says specifications may vary by market, so check the exact regional model before buying.

Which phone has the better display?
The screen sizes and refresh rates are close: Samsung lists a 6.7-inch FHD+ panel with a refresh rate up to 120Hz, while Motorola lists a 6.72-inch FHD+ display at 120Hz. The main documented difference is panel type: the A37 uses Super AMOLED and the Moto G Max uses LCD. If display technology is a priority, the A37 has the more compelling specification on paper. These figures alone do not establish brightness, color accuracy or outdoor visibility in everyday use.
Which has the better battery and charging?
The Moto G Max has the greater rated capacity at 7,000mAh, compared with the A37’s 5,000mAh typical battery. Samsung’s 45W charging figure is reported in the 91mobiles comparison; Motorola lists 30W TurboPower. Capacity does not guarantee longer runtime, and charging speed alone does not tell you how long a full charge takes in practice.

For additional context, 91mobiles reports PCMark battery results of 18h 15m for the Moto G Max and 11h 50m for the A37. These are that publisher’s comparison figures; its test conditions are not independently confirmed here, so treat them as one benchmark result rather than a prediction of your own screen-on time.
How do their cameras compare?
Both phones list a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide. Samsung also lists a 5MP macro camera, while no macro camera appears in Motorola’s published specification. For selfies, Motorola lists a 32MP front camera to Samsung’s 12MP. Megapixel counts and camera inventories do not establish which phone takes better photos; no directly comparable independent camera test is established in the cited material.

Which phone is more water-resistant?
Samsung lists IP68 for the Galaxy A37 and Motorola lists IP64 for the Moto G Max. These are different ingress-protection classifications, not guarantees against every kind of water exposure. Samsung’s U.K. product information says its IP68 rating covers submersion in up to 1.5 meters of freshwater for up to 30 minutes, notes that resistance can diminish with wear, and does not recommend beach or pool use. That guidance is specific to Samsung’s stated rating; do not treat either rating as a reason to expose a phone unnecessarily.

Samsung states that the A37 is eligible for up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Motorola lists two OS upgrades and three years of security patches for the Moto G Max. On the published commitments, Samsung offers the longer support window, which can matter if you plan to keep a phone for several years. “Up to” describes Samsung’s stated maximum commitment, not a guarantee that every update arrives on the same date in every region.

What is the price difference?
Price depends on market and date. Samsung announced a U.S. starting price of $449.99 for the Galaxy A37 5G, with U.S. availability beginning April 9, 2026. Samsung’s purchase page showed $449.99 for the 128GB option in the captured listing and also offered a 256GB option; retailer prices and availability can change. The official Motorola U.S. support specification page does not provide a Moto G Max U.S. price, so the available sources do not support a like-for-like U.S. price comparison.
For India, 91mobiles displayed Amazon listing prices of ₹41,999 for the A37 and ₹27,599 for the Moto G Max when its comparison page was accessed in 2026. That is a ₹14,400 difference in the displayed listings, not a permanent price gap or a confirmed current checkout total. Check live listings for the same market, storage configuration and seller before deciding which is better value.

Performance: what the available numbers can and cannot tell you
Motorola lists a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, 6GB LPDDR5X RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage for the Moto G Max. In its comparison, 91mobiles reports AnTuTu scores of 1,053,896 for the A37 and 807,683 for the Moto G Max. Those are publisher-reported comparison figures, not a guarantee of how either phone will perform in your apps; test conditions and regional configurations can affect results. The cited Samsung U.S. launch specification table does not state the A37 processor, so this comparison cannot establish a complete chip-to-chip specification match.

Which one should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy A37 5G if you prioritize
- A Super AMOLED screen rather than LCD.
- The higher listed ingress-protection rating, with the limits of IP ratings in mind.
- A dedicated macro camera in the published rear-camera setup.
- The longer manufacturer-stated software and security support commitment.
Choose the Moto G Max 5G if you prioritize
- A larger rated battery capacity.
- Stereo speakers and a 3.5mm headset jack.
- A higher-resolution selfie camera on the specification sheet.
- The lower India listing snapshot, if a live same-market price check confirms the difference for the configuration you want.
