Which phone has the more useful camera setup?
Choose the vivo T4 Pro for distant subjects
The T4 Pro’s 50MP 3x periscope telephoto camera is the clearest hardware distinction. It gives the phone a dedicated camera for zoomed-in framing that the A36’s listed rear-camera system does not have. Its other rear cameras are a 50MP OIS main camera and a 2MP bokeh camera.
Choose the Galaxy A36 for wider scenes
Samsung lists a 50MP OIS main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP macro camera. That gives the A36 dedicated ultra-wide and close-up options instead of the T4 Pro’s periscope telephoto. Which arrangement suits you depends on whether you more often frame broad scenes or zoom in on distant subjects; the specifications alone do not establish which phone takes better photos overall.

Battery capacity and charging: what the figures tell you
vivo lists a 6500mAh typical battery and charging up to 90W for the T4 Pro. Samsung lists a 5000mAh typical battery and 45W charging for the A36. The vivo parameter page also lists the T4 Pro’s rated capacity as 6330mAh; typical and rated capacity are different specification figures.
The larger typical capacity and higher maximum charging wattage favor the T4 Pro on paper, but neither number proves longer real-world battery life or a particular charge time. Actual results depend on use and charging conditions.

Display, protection and software support
Displays
Both phones list 120Hz AMOLED displays. The A36 has a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel; vivo lists the T4 Pro’s display as 6.77 inches with a 2392 × 1080 resolution. The listed size and panel descriptions may help narrow preferences, but do not by themselves establish differences in brightness, color accuracy or outdoor visibility.
Protection and warranty qualification
Samsung lists IP67 protection and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the A36. vivo states IP68 and IP69 ratings for the T4 Pro, while warning that liquid-ingress damage is not covered by warranty. An IP rating does not override that warranty exclusion.

Update commitments
Samsung promises six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates for the A36. vivo’s India Store lists four years of Android OS updates and six years of security updates for the T4 Pro. These stated commitments favor Samsung for the number of OS upgrade generations; the listed security-update period is six years for both.

There is not a sufficiently consistent current like-for-like price comparison to declare one definitive gap. Prices and stock change, and listings can refer to different memory configurations. Check the same RAM/storage variant on both phones and confirm availability and the final checkout price before deciding.
- Samsung India announced launch prices on March 3, 2025: ₹32,999 for 8GB/128GB, ₹35,999 for 8GB/256GB and ₹38,999 for 12GB/256GB. These are launch-period prices, not current quotes. Samsung also described a launch-period storage-upgrade offer that changed the effective price for some variants. Samsung’s announcement confirms the A36’s India launch.
- The vivo India Store listed the T4 Pro 8GB/128GB at ₹27,999 against an MRP of ₹32,999 when checked in 2026, but that selected listing showed “Out of stock.” Treat it as a dated listing, not an available offer. Check the store listing for current status.
- Smartprix showed ₹27,999 for the Galaxy A36 and ₹29,695 for the T4 Pro 8GB/256GB on a page last updated September 16, 2026. Those figures do not establish a like-for-like gap because the A36 configuration is not specified alongside that price in the available listing details, and listing prices can vary. A separate comparison listing reported different figures. Smartprix comparison and Gadgets360 comparison are third-party listings, not authoritative live checkout quotes.
Which one should you buy?
- Consider the vivo T4 Pro if a dedicated 3x periscope camera, higher listed battery capacity or higher maximum charging wattage matters most to you.
- Consider the Samsung Galaxy A36 if you want an ultra-wide camera, Gorilla Glass Victus+, or Samsung’s stated six OS upgrade generations.
- Compare current prices carefully if cost is decisive. The available figures are dated or tied to different variants, so verify the exact configuration and its live stock before treating either as the better-value option.
The listed processors differ, but without independent comparative testing these specifications are not enough to say which phone is faster in everyday use.
