For India-market buyers, the realme P4 Power 5G is the stronger paper choice if you want a much larger battery and a faster-refreshing display; the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is the better fit if you value a thinner, lighter phone and Samsung’s stated long-term software support. The battery-capacity gap is substantial, but it does not establish a precise difference in real-world runtime. Prices also vary by comparison site and seller, so verify the exact variant and checkout price before deciding.

Which phone has the better battery and charging?
Battery capacity
The P4 Power’s listed typical capacity is 10,001 mAh, compared with 5,000 mAh typical for the A36—about twice the stated capacity. realme also lists 9,750 mAh as rated capacity; Samsung lists 4,905 mAh as rated/minimum. Capacity alone cannot establish how many hours either phone will last in the same person’s use.

Runtime claims are not a head-to-head test
realme publishes battery-use figures attributed to realme Lab and cautions that actual results may vary. Samsung advertises up to 29 hours of video playback, based on UX Connect Research testing in the UK on prerelease devices under specified LTE and 5G Sub6 conditions; Samsung also says actual battery life varies. These are separate manufacturer claims with different testing descriptions, so they should not be compared as though they came from one controlled test. Charging and what comes in the box
realme lists charging up to 80 W, against up to 45 W for Samsung. That makes the P4 Power the higher-rated option on paper, but maximum charging rates do not by themselves establish charging time; charger compatibility and conditions matter. Samsung states, “The Wall Charger for Super Fast Charging (45 W) sold separately.” realme lists a charger and protective case in the box, while noting that box contents may vary by market. Confirm the package and compatible charger for the seller and region you intend to buy from.
Which display is better on paper?
The P4 Power lists a 6.8-inch-class AMOLED panel with 1280 × 2800 resolution and up to 144 Hz refresh rate. The A36 lists a 6.7-inch-class FHD+ Super AMOLED panel at 120 Hz, with Samsung citing peak brightness of up to 1,200 nits. The P4 Power leads on stated resolution and maximum refresh rate; Samsung supplies a brightness figure in the cited specification. Those numbers and panel labels do not determine which screen looks better in person, and brightness figures are not necessarily measured under identical conditions.

How do the cameras compare?
Both phones list a 50 MP main rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8 MP ultrawide in the comparison specifications. The A36 adds a listed 5 MP macro camera. realme specifies 2-axis OIS on the P4 Power’s main camera and rear video recording up to 4K at 30 fps. Samsung lists a 12 MP front camera with video HDR; realme lists a 16 MP front camera and 1080p front video at 30 fps.
These are hardware and recording specifications, not a photo-quality verdict. Megapixel counts, camera count and OIS alone do not show how well a camera handles focus, moving subjects, exposure or low light. No matched camera test establishes a winner.
Which phone is thinner and easier to carry?
Samsung lists the A36 at 195 g and 7.4 mm thick; realme lists the P4 Power at about 219 g and about 9.08 mm. On those figures, the A36 is lighter by 24 g and thinner by about 1.68 mm. The P4 Power’s larger stated battery comes in a noticeably bulkier listed body, which may matter if you carry your phone in a pocket or use it one-handed.

Which has the stronger software-support commitment?
Samsung states that the Galaxy A36 receives six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung cautions that its update policy may change and that timing and availability can vary by model and market. The realme specification page lists realme UI 7.0 but does not state how long OS or security updates will be provided. A third-party comparison lists three OS years and four security years for realme; without a confirming realme policy source, treat that duration as unverified rather than a manufacturer commitment. Check each listing’s seller, memory and storage variant, offers, delivery terms and final checkout amount before comparing value. Which phone should you buy?
Choose the realme P4 Power if
- You prioritize the largest stated battery capacity and want the higher listed maximum charging rate.
- You prefer the higher maximum refresh rate and listed display resolution.
- You are comfortable with a heavier, thicker phone and want to check realme’s regional charger and box contents before buying.
Choose the Samsung Galaxy A36 if
- You want Samsung’s stated six OS generations and six years of security updates.
- You prefer the thinner, lighter listed design.
- You value the listed macro camera or Samsung’s Super AMOLED branding and want to confirm the separately sold 45 W charger suits your needs.
