They are different phones with different processors and battery capacities, not one A6 Pro with optional connectivity.

Software support
Samsung announced that the Galaxy A36 5G would receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and six years of security updates. This is Samsung’s stated policy; rollout timing can vary by market. The cited OPPO specifications list ColorOS 15 for the A6 Pro models but do not establish an update-support duration, so the comparison is not evidence that OPPO offers no updates.
Ingress protection
Samsung lists an IP67 rating for the A36. For the A6 Pro 5G, OPPO UAE says the phone passed IPX6, IPX8, IPX9, and IP6X tests conducted by SGS. Keep that qualification attached to the UAE 5G model; it does not establish an equivalent rating for the global 4G CPH2799. IP ratings describe tested ingress protection, not a guarantee against damage.
Do the camera specifications identify a winner?
No. Samsung lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro camera. OPPO lists a 50MP main camera and a 2MP monochrome rear camera on both A6 Pro variants. The hardware lists show different camera configurations, but megapixel counts and module types alone do not establish which phone takes better photographs. No independent side-by-side camera test is available in the cited material.
Quick Recap
Which one should you choose?
- Choose the Galaxy A36 5G if Samsung’s stated long-term update policy, its IP67 rating, or a dedicated ultrawide camera matters most to you.
- Consider the A6 Pro 4G if you specifically want the CPH2799 and its listed 7,000mAh typical battery and up to 80W charging.
- Consider the A6 Pro 5G if you want the CPH2781; verify the local version and its network bands, and treat OPPO UAE’s durability claims as applying to that regional 5G context.
- For price, compare current local listings for matched configurations rather than subtracting the dated Korean, US, and UAE references above.
