OnePlus positions the Nord 6 in India as a newer, performance-focused phone with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and a 9,000mAh battery. The Nord’s detailed comparison specs and the available Indian price snapshots are less firmly established, so check local listings and official specifications before deciding.

How the displays and performance compare
Display: higher listed refresh rate on Nord 6
Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with refresh rates up to 120Hz. A third-party comparison lists the Nord 6 at 6.78 inches, 1.5K resolution and 165Hz. On paper, that gives the Nord a higher refresh-rate ceiling and more pixels, but the listing should not be treated as an official specification confirmation. A refresh-rate number alone does not establish how consistently an app or game will run at that rate.

Processor: Nord 6 is positioned for more performance
Samsung’s 2025 interim report identifies the A36 platform as Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. OnePlus India launch communications identify the Nord 6 processor as Snapdragon 8s Gen 4. Those model names place the Nord in a more performance-oriented position, but no benchmark results or controlled performance tests are available here. Actual performance also depends on software, cooling, workloads and configuration.

Camera specifications: compare the setup, not just megapixels
The A36 has a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 5MP macro camera, plus a 12MP front camera in Samsung’s regional specifications. The third-party Nord 6 comparison lists a 50MP main and 8MP ultra-wide rear camera, and a 32MP front camera.
Those figures describe resolution and camera count, not the quality of photos or video. Sensor size, processing, stabilization behavior and shooting conditions matter too. The available evidence does not establish a camera winner, and a higher front-camera megapixel count does not by itself guarantee better selfies.
Battery and charging: capacity is not battery life
Samsung lists the A36 battery as 5,000mAh typical capacity, with a rated minimum of 4,905mAh, and lists 45W fast charging. OnePlus India launch communications promote a 9,000mAh Nord 6 battery; a third-party comparison lists 80W charging.

The capacity figures indicate that Nord 6 is listed with a substantially larger battery, but they do not show how long either phone lasts in everyday use. Screen brightness, network conditions, apps and workload can all affect endurance. Charging rates also do not specify how long a full charge takes, and the charger supplied in the box can vary by market and package. Check the local product listing for the confirmed charging specification and box contents.
Durability and software support
Water and dust protection
Samsung specifies IP67 water and dust resistance for the A36. OnePlus launch communications describe the Nord 6 as having all-round dust and water protection, while a third-party comparison lists IP69K. Without an official Nord 6 specification confirming the rating, do not treat that third-party entry as a settled basis for choosing between the phones. IP ratings are not interchangeable shorthand for identical protection.
Updates and software
Samsung Ireland states that the A36 receives six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung lists Android 15 and One UI 7 at launch. A third-party comparison lists Android 16 for the Nord 6, but an equivalent official Nord 6 update-duration commitment was not verified. If long-term software support is a deciding factor, compare the local official commitments rather than assuming the phones offer the same period of updates.

Price difference in India: compare like with like
The Nord 6 was announced for India, with OnePlus India communications stating availability from April 9, 2026 and directing buyers to an Amazon India listing. The available price figures are third-party listing snapshots, not official quotes or a dependable current price comparison.
- A Smartprix listing updated October 7, 2026 showed ₹46,999 for the Nord 6 and ₹43,499 for a Galaxy A36 listing configured with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
- A separate Smartprix comparison showed ₹46,999 for the Nord 6 and ₹28,000 for the Galaxy A36, without matching the higher-capacity A36 configuration.
Because the A36 figures refer to different configurations, those snapshots do not establish a definitive price gap. Prices can also vary by seller and date. For a useful comparison, check the same RAM and storage variant, seller, market and purchase date on live listings. Do not apply these India snapshots to another country.
Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy A36 if
- You want Samsung’s documented IP67 rating and a stated six-year security-update commitment.
- You prefer the lighter listed phone: Samsung specifies 195g, compared with 217g in third-party Nord 6 data.
- You want a clearly specified rear camera setup that includes a dedicated macro camera and optical image stabilization on the main camera.
Consider the Nord 6 if
- You are buying in India and want to investigate OnePlus’s newer performance-oriented option, with Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 stated in launch communications.
- A larger listed battery capacity or higher listed display refresh rate is important to you, while recognizing that the 9,000mAh claim comes from launch communications and the 165Hz figure is third-party-reported.
- You can confirm the current local configuration, official durability rating, update commitment and seller terms before purchase.
For either phone, compare the exact variant and current price in your market. The evidence supports a more confident specification and support assessment for the A36; it does not establish a universal price winner or prove which phone lasts longer, takes better photos or performs better in everyday use.
