The best buy depends on the live price for the same RAM and storage configuration, plus whether the A36’s documented protection and charging advantages matter to you.

What is the A36 and F36 price difference in India?
For the identical 8 GB / 128 GB configuration, Smartprix reported a lowest price of ₹27,830 for the Galaxy A36 5G and ₹23,579 for the Galaxy F36 5G in a listing snapshot last updated 28 September 2026. That makes the A36 ₹4,251 more expensive by calculation from those two listed prices. Treat this as a dated marketplace snapshot, not a guaranteed checkout price: sellers, stock and offers can change.
Samsung’s own A36 buying page separately showed ₹33,999 for 8 GB / 128 GB and ₹37,999 for 8 GB / 256 GB when retrieved. The different figures illustrate why it is important to check the seller, date and exact variant rather than treating one listing as a universal price.

Launch prices are historical, not current offers
Samsung’s 2025 India launch announcement set A36 launch prices at ₹32,999 for 8 GB / 128 GB, ₹35,999 for 8 GB / 256 GB and ₹38,999 for 12 GB / 256 GB. Its F36 launch announcement listed ₹17,999 for 8 GB / 128 GB and ₹20,999 for 8 GB / 256 GB. The F36’s ₹16,499 price was for 6 GB / 128 GB and included a ₹1,000 introductory offer; it is neither the same memory configuration nor a current-price comparison with the A36.
To compare offers, match RAM and storage first, then compare the final price from the same seller type and include any bank or exchange conditions that apply. Current direct Samsung pricing for the F36 was not established in the sources cited here.
Display and design: similar core screen specifications
Both phones use a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, so the published core size, resolution class and refresh rate are alike. Samsung specifies up to 1200 nits for the A36 and highlights Vision Booster for the F36; those descriptions do not provide a like-for-like brightness comparison.

Performance: different processors, no proven winner
The A36 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while the F36 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1380. Samsung’s launch materials mention vapor-chamber cooling for both. Without a direct benchmark or sustained-use comparison, the chipset names alone are not enough to say which phone is faster in everyday use or gaming.
Cameras: compare the hardware, not an assumed photo winner
Samsung lists the F36’s rear cameras as 50 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP, with optical image stabilisation (OIS) on the main camera. Smartprix lists the A36’s rear setup as 50 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP; Samsung’s launch material identifies it as a 50 MP triple-camera system. The higher listed macro-camera resolution on the A36 does not by itself establish better close-up photos.
Samsung lists a 13 MP front camera for the F36 and describes 4K recording with both front and rear cameras. Smartprix lists a 12 MP front camera for the A36, whose launch material highlights 10-bit HDR front recording. These are feature differences, not evidence of which phone produces better images or video in real conditions.
Battery, charging and software support
Both phones are specified with a 5000 mAh typical battery. Samsung notes that the F36’s typical-capacity figure is an estimated average under third-party laboratory conditions and gives 4855 mAh as its rated minimum. Capacity alone does not establish real-world battery endurance.

The A36’s rated wired charging power is 45 W, compared with 25 W for the F36. This makes the A36 the higher-wattage option, but wattage does not state how long a full charge takes; actual charging time can depend on conditions and charging equipment.
Samsung’s India launch announcements give both phones the same stated support duration: six generations of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung’s F36 product page specifies that its security-update period is valid until 31 December 2031.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Durability: the A36 has the clearer published rating
Samsung specifies IP67 dust and water resistance and Gorilla Glass Victus+ for the A36. For the F36, Samsung’s retrieved official material confirms Gorilla Glass Victus+ but does not establish an IP rating. That is a difference in documented protection; it is not proof that the F36 has no water resistance.
Which one should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy A36 5G if
- You want Samsung’s published IP67 rating and prefer a phone with a clearly stated dust- and water-resistance specification.
- You value a 45 W charging specification over the F36’s 25 W rating.
- The A36’s listed camera configuration and front-video features better match your needs, while recognising that specifications do not prove image-quality superiority.
- The price premium for the same RAM and storage variant is acceptable at the seller you plan to use.
Choose the Galaxy F36 5G if
- It is meaningfully cheaper than the A36 for the same RAM and storage at checkout.
- You want the shared 6.7-inch FHD+ 120 Hz AMOLED screen, 5000 mAh typical battery and stated long-term software-support duration without paying extra for the A36’s higher rated charging power.
- You are comfortable making the choice without an IP rating established in the cited Samsung material.
For a straightforward value decision, compare the live prices of identical configurations. If the gap is modest and the A36’s documented IP67 protection or 45 W charging matters to you, the A36 is easier to justify. If the F36 remains substantially cheaper and those differences are not priorities, it offers the shared screen and support fundamentals at a lower listed price.
