The Samsung Galaxy F56 5G launched in India at a lower price than the Galaxy A36 5G in matching 8GB configurations, but its quoted introductory prices included a bank discount. Both phones share a 6.7-inch AMOLED-class display, 5,000mAh battery, 45W charging support and Samsung’s stated six-generation Android upgrade and six-year security-update commitments. Their main documented differences are processor, camera claims and the A36’s explicitly listed IP67 rating.

How the launch prices compare
At the two capacities available for both models in Samsung’s launch announcements, the F56’s listed introductory price was lower. Samsung explicitly said its F56 figures included an INR 2,000 instant bank discount; the figures are not directly comparable to an undiscounted offer without accounting for that condition.

This device is compatible with T-Mobile networks and its MVNOs in the United States, carrier compatibility, activation, and network performance may vary depending on IMEI acceptance policies, carrier requirements, regional network support, and available frequency bands.

|---|---|---|---|
| 8GB / 128GB | INR 32,999 | INR 25,999, including INR 2,000 instant bank discount | F56 was INR 7,000 lower |
| 8GB / 256GB | INR 35,999 | INR 28,999, including INR 2,000 instant bank discount | F56 was INR 7,000 lower |
| 12GB / 256GB | INR 38,999 | Not stated in Samsung’s cited F56 launch announcement | No matching launch-price comparison |
The A36 launch announcement also mentioned storage-upgrade offers. Since the announcements were made on different dates and the F56 price was conditional on a bank discount, these figures describe launch positioning rather than a same-day market comparison. Samsung’s A36 purchase page surfaced a displayed price from INR 36,999 and an MRP of INR 46,999, but a matching current F56 checkout price was not established. For a purchase decision, compare the same RAM and storage, seller, bank eligibility and final payable amount on the day you buy.
What the shared display and battery specifications mean
Both phones have a 6.7-inch AMOLED-family display and Samsung advertises brightness up to 1,200 nits for each, though the F56 announcement specifically calls its figure 1,200 nits HBM. The F56 is explicitly listed as 120Hz. The cited A36 announcement does not provide a refresh-rate figure, so this evidence does not establish a screen-quality winner. Resolution, brightness claims and panel labels alone also cannot show which display looks better in everyday use.
Each model is specified with a 5,000mAh battery and 45W wired charging support. No matched battery-life test or charging-time comparison is established here, so equal capacity and wattage should not be read as proof of equal endurance or charging speed in practice.

Processor and camera differences
Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 vs Exynos 1480
The A36 uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, while the F56 uses Samsung’s Exynos 1480. That identifies different hardware, but it does not by itself determine which phone is faster, stays cooler or lasts longer under load. No matched benchmark or controlled A36-versus-F56 performance test is available here; a firm speed verdict would need comparable testing on the same software versions and conditions.
Camera hardware and advertised recording
Samsung lists a 50MP main camera for the A36. For the F56, it specifies a 50MP OIS triple rear camera, with the product page listing 50MP + 8MP + 2MP, and a 12MP HDR selfie camera. Samsung’s A36 announcement calls out 10-bit HDR front recording; its F56 announcement claims 4K at 30 frames per second with 10-bit HDR video. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not a matched image or video-quality test. Megapixel counts and recording formats alone do not establish which camera produces better results.

Samsung explicitly specifies IP67 dust- and water-resistance for the A36 and names Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection. For the F56, Samsung’s cited announcement says Victus+ protects the front and back but does not state an IP rating. That is an evidence difference, not proof that the F56 either has or lacks a particular water-resistance rating; check the exact model’s official documentation before relying on one.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the F56 if: you are comparing the historical India launch offers at 8GB/128GB or 8GB/256GB, and its bank-discount condition and current seller price work for you. Samsung also specifies a 120Hz display and OIS on its 50MP main camera.
- Consider the A36 if: an explicitly documented IP67 rating matters to you, or you prefer its stated Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 platform. Its launch announcement also listed a 12GB/256GB option.
- Do not decide on an assumed performance or camera winner: the available specifications do not substitute for matched real-world tests.
Before paying, check the exact storage variant and final price, including bank offers, then verify the seller’s availability and the model-specific warranty and durability documentation.
