The Samsung Galaxy A36 5G is the better fit if you want a sharper Super AMOLED screen, IP67 rating and more versatile rear-camera hardware. The OnePlus N6 5G is the better fit if battery capacity and faster specified charging matter more: it lists an 8,000mAh typical battery and 45W charging, against the A36’s 5,000mAh typical battery. In an India price snapshot, the N6 was listed ₹1,000 lower, but marketplace prices change and the offers may not match your preferred variant.

Samsung’s display diagonal is 6.7 inches across the full rectangle; its rounded-corner viewable measurement is 6.5 inches, and the camera opening and corners reduce usable area. Samsung notes specifications may vary by market. The N6 display resolution and price data above come from a third-party comparison page, so confirm the exact regional variant and current listing.

The A36 has the more detailed display specification: FHD+ resolution on a Super AMOLED panel. The N6 comparison listing gives it a slightly larger 6.8-inch screen, but specifies 720 × 1570 LCD resolution. If reading fine text, viewing detailed images or preferring AMOLED is your priority, the stated A36 panel is the stronger fit. If you value screen size more, the N6 is marginally larger on paper. Both are listed at up to 120Hz; maximum refresh rate can depend on content and settings.

Battery and charging: OnePlus leads on stated capacity
OnePlus specifies an 8,000mAh typical battery for the N6 and 45W SuperVOOC charging. Samsung specifies a 5,000mAh typical battery for the A36 and gives a rated minimum capacity of 4,905mAh. These capacity figures make the N6 the clear choice on paper for battery size, but they do not establish how long either phone lasts in comparable everyday use. OnePlus’s “3 days” battery statement is based on its own test lab and includes usage and other conditions; it is not a guaranteed runtime for every owner.
Cameras: more lenses do not prove better photos
Samsung lists a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 5MP macro camera, plus a 12MP front camera. OnePlus lists a 50MP main camera; the comparison page reports an 8MP front camera. The A36 therefore offers more rear-camera options and a higher stated front-camera resolution. Those specifications do not establish which phone takes better photos: megapixels and camera count are not substitutes for comparable image samples or controlled testing.

Protection ratings are not interchangeable
Samsung lists IP67 for the A36, while OnePlus lists IP65 and MIL-STD-810H certification for the N6. These are distinct claims, not equivalent guarantees of protection. Neither rating means a phone is waterproof or indestructible; follow each manufacturer’s care and warranty terms, and avoid treating certification as permission to expose a device to damaging conditions.
Software and update support
The cited manufacturer pages list Android 15 with One UI 7 for the A36 and OxygenOS 16 for the N6. The comparison page gives update-support figures, but the cited information does not establish a sufficiently verified, current manufacturer policy for the relevant regional variants. Confirm the promised update period directly with Samsung or OnePlus for the exact model sold where you live rather than relying on an unverified comparison-page figure.

OnePlus describes a “60-Month Smooth Experience” as passing 60-month fluency testing in its test lab through software, hardware and other optimizations. The company also says fluency protection does not guarantee absolutely no lag and that actual experience may vary with network, usage and other factors. This is a manufacturer testing claim, not independent proof that performance will remain unchanged for five years.
Which phone should you choose?
Choose the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G if
- You prefer the specified FHD+ Super AMOLED display over the N6’s listed HD-resolution LCD.
- You want the stated IP67 rating and a rear setup that includes ultra-wide and macro cameras as well as a stabilized main camera.
- You are comfortable paying more if the current variant-level offer still carries a premium.
Choose the OnePlus N6 5G if
- You prioritize its much larger stated battery capacity and 45W charging specification.
- You are comfortable with the LCD resolution reported by the comparison page.
- The live offer for the same storage/RAM configuration is lower; the captured India comparison listed it ₹1,000 below the A36.
This is a specification-based decision, not a hands-on camera, battery-life or performance verdict. Recheck prices, seller and exact variant at checkout; offers and regional specifications can change.
