The Nothing Phone (4b) has a slightly larger display and a newer-listed processor, while the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G offers a macro rear camera and longer reported operating-system support. There is no reliable single price difference to quote: the available official prices are for different countries and currencies, and Samsung’s cited U.S. MSRP list marks its A36 entry as end of life.

What the differences mean in practice
Display and processor
The Phone (4b)’s listed screen is 0.07 inches larger diagonally. Both phones are listed with 120 Hz displays, so the supplied figures establish a small size difference, not a demonstrated difference in brightness, color accuracy, or outdoor readability. Its Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is a newer generation than the A36’s listed Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, but these specifications alone do not establish a real-world speed or gaming advantage; no comparable benchmark results are available here.

Cameras
The A36 has a listed 5 MP macro camera in addition to its main and ultrawide cameras. The Phone (4b) listing has a main and ultrawide rear camera, with no macro unit included in that comparison. This is a difference in camera options, not evidence that one phone takes better photos overall.
Battery
The standard Phone (4b) listing has 200 mAh more capacity than the A36. Capacity is not a battery-life test: the figures do not establish how long either phone lasts under a particular workload. Check the regional Phone (4b) configuration before buying, especially in India, where Nothing identifies a 6,000 mAh variant.

Software support
91mobiles reports six years of OS and security updates for the A36, compared with three years of OS updates and six years of security updates for the Phone (4b). These durations are attributed to that comparison source; current manufacturer support terms for the precise regional variants were not independently confirmed. If long-term OS upgrades matter, verify the promise directly with the manufacturer for the model sold in your country.
What the available prices show—and do not show
| Phone and market | Configuration and displayed price | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy A36 5G, United States | 128 GB unlocked: $399.99 | Samsung U.S. MSRP document effective March 2026; the entry is marked EOL, and Samsung says prices are subject to change. Samsung price list |
| Nothing Phone (4b), Germany | 8+128 GB: €329 | Price displayed on Nothing’s official Germany store page. Nothing Germany store |
| Nothing Phone (4b), Malaysia | 8+128 GB: MYR 1,499; MYR 1,599 also displayed | Both amounts appear on Nothing’s official Malaysia store page; check the live listing for the price and terms that apply. Nothing Malaysia store |
These amounts cannot be subtracted to produce a meaningful price difference: they refer to different markets, currencies, and store contexts, and the Samsung figure is an MSRP rather than a current retailer quote. Compare current local prices for the same storage tier, including taxes and any applicable promotions, before judging value. The cited Samsung entry’s EOL marking also means it should not be treated as proof of current U.S. availability.

Which phone should you choose?
- Consider the Nothing Phone (4b) if its slightly larger listed display, newer-listed processor, or the available local price for your configuration suits your priorities. The figures do not prove a performance or battery-life win.
- Consider the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G if you want the listed macro camera or place greater weight on the longer OS-update period reported by 91mobiles. Confirm current support terms and local availability before purchasing.
- Compare local listings first if price is the deciding factor. Use the same country and storage tier, and confirm the regional model’s specifications and support terms.
