Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. That is a dated manufacturer MSRP, not a live-price comparison. The A36’s main listed advantages are a larger, brighter screen, faster wired charging and a longer software-support commitment.
How much do the Galaxy A35 and A36 cost?
Samsung’s US MSRP sheet effective March 2025 lists the 128GB unlocked Galaxy A35 5G and Galaxy A36 5G at $399.99 each. The documented MSRP difference is therefore $0 for those specific US configurations. Samsung also announced a $399.99 starting price for each model in its respective launch year: 2024 for the A35 and 2025 for the A36. Samsung’s A35 announcement and A36 announcement provide launch context; the US MSRP list is the source for the comparable 128GB unlocked prices.

Which phone has the better screen and charging?
Samsung lists the A36 screen as 0.1 inch larger diagonally and up to 200 nits brighter at peak than the A35’s. Both are listed with FHD+ Super AMOLED panels and a 120Hz refresh rate. Those are manufacturer specifications, not an independent brightness or display-quality test.
The A36 also supports 45W wired charging, compared with 25W on the A35. Both are specified with 5,000mAh typical batteries, so the charging rating—not a demonstrated battery-life advantage—is the clear spec difference. No measured charging time or battery-life comparison is established by these specifications.

Which model is lighter?
Samsung’s India listings give the A35 dimensions as 161.7 × 78.0 × 8.2mm and its weight as 209g; the India A36 listing search result gives a weight of 195g. That points to a lighter A36 in those published regional listings, but dimensions for the A36 and a universal, market-wide comparison are not established here. Check the exact market model if weight or fit is decisive.
Which one should you choose?
Choose the A36 if its upgrades matter at your price
- You want the larger, higher-peak-brightness display listed by Samsung.
- You value 45W rather than 25W wired charging.
- You expect to keep the phone longer and place value on Samsung’s six-generation OS and six-year security commitments.
- The A36 costs the same as, or only modestly more than, the comparable A35 in the offer available to you.
Consider the A35 if it is meaningfully cheaper
- A current discount makes it a better value for your budget.
- The A36’s larger screen, faster charging and longer support window are not priorities.
- You have confirmed the exact regional version, storage, RAM and network bands meet your needs.
There is no universal winner based on MSRP alone: Samsung’s comparable US 128GB unlocked MSRP is tied, while actual prices and configurations vary. The A36 has the stronger listed display, charging and support specifications; an unusually lower A35 price can change the value calculation.
