The Galaxy A56 5G is the newer choice, with a slightly larger display, updated listed camera hardware and a longer stated software-support window. The Galaxy A34 5G may still make sense if it costs substantially less in your market, but there is no reliable universal price difference: compare current offers for the same storage, condition and warranty.
Galaxy A34 vs A56: key specifications
These are manufacturer-listed specifications for particular regional variants, not a guarantee that every market has identical configurations. Samsung’s Mexico A34 listing and UK A56 listing are the cited examples.

What changes on the display?
Both phones use FHD+ Super AMOLED panels with refresh rates up to 120 Hz. The A56 is 0.1 inch larger by the full-rectangle measurement: 6.7 inches versus 6.6 inches. The usable rounded-corner measurements listed by Samsung are 6.5 and 6.4 inches, respectively. This is a modest size difference, not a change in resolution or display type.

Do the A56 cameras take better photos?
The A56 has higher listed resolution for its main and ultrawide rear cameras: 50 MP and 12 MP, against the A34’s 48 MP and 8 MP. Both specifications list optical image stabilization (OIS) for the main rear camera, and each includes a 5 MP macro camera. The A34’s listed front camera is 13 MP, compared with 12 MP for the A56.
Those figures describe hardware, not tested image quality. Megapixel counts alone do not establish which phone produces better photos or video; image processing, lighting and camera software also matter. No side-by-side camera test is available here, so treat the A56’s newer camera combination as a specification update rather than proof of a measurable photographic win.

How much longer will the A56 receive updates?
Samsung’s stated policy for the A56 is up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and six years of security updates. Samsung’s Gulf product page states four generations of OS updates and five years of security maintenance for the A34. The A56 therefore has the longer published support commitment.

Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For a used or older A34, the important question is how much support remains, not just the original policy. Its release date and update history affect the time left on its support window. Check the exact device’s current software and security patch level before buying; do not assume a second-hand A34 starts a fresh five-year period.

Storage, SIM and regional differences
The cited Mexico A34 variant lists 256 GB of storage, a single SIM and a microSD slot supporting cards up to 1 TB. That expansion detail should not be generalized to all A34 models. The cited UK A56 page lists a 256 GB variant, while available storage and SIM configurations can differ by country and SKU.
- Confirm the exact model number and storage capacity in the seller’s listing.
- If you need microSD, verify that the specific handset has a card slot; do not infer it from another region’s A34 specification.
- Check SIM layout, supported network bands, carrier lock, colour and included items against the device you will receive.
What does IP67 mean in practice?
Samsung identifies both generations as IP67 in its product materials. For the A34, Samsung describes lab testing involving submersion in up to 1 meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes. The company cautions that water and dust resistance is not permanent and may diminish over time, and advises against beach or pool use. IP67 is not a promise that either phone is waterproof or safe in every wet environment.

What is the A34 vs A56 price difference?
There is no verified current, like-for-like price pair here, so a single price difference would be misleading. Samsung’s 2025 US launch announcement said the A56 would be available later that year starting at $499.99. That is historical US launch pricing, not a current 2026 quote, and it cannot by itself establish what the A56 or A34 costs now in your country.

Which one should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy A56 5G if
- You want the longer stated OS and security-update commitment.
- You prefer the slightly larger screen or the A56’s newer listed rear-camera combination.
- The current local price premium over an equivalent A34 is acceptable to you.
Consider the Galaxy A34 5G if
- You find a meaningfully lower price and the specific phone’s condition, warranty and remaining support suit you.
- You have verified the exact regional variant and it includes a feature you need, such as microSD expansion on the cited Mexico model.
Neither the specification sheet nor the A56’s historical launch price settles value on its own. Base the decision on the current offer for the exact handset and configuration you can buy.
