The Galaxy A35 5G is the 2024 successor to the 2023 Galaxy A34 5G, but the cited specifications point to a generation refresh, not a wholesale change: both have a 6.6-inch-class FHD+ display and a 5,000mAh typical battery. The A35 adds a listed 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and carries Samsung’s launch-era promise of up to four Android/One UI upgrade generations and five years of security updates. Which is the better buy depends most on your local price, exact regional model and how long you plan to keep it.
Samsung Galaxy A34 vs Galaxy A35: key specifications
These figures come from Samsung listings for different regional variants: the A34 row uses the Korean SM-A346N specification, while the A35 figures are from Samsung UK unless noted. Memory, storage, SIM configuration and other details can vary by market, so check the model number on the listing you intend to buy.

What changed from the A34 to the A35?
The A35 has a listed OIS-equipped main camera
Samsung lists the A35 with a 50MP main camera and optical image stabilization, alongside 8MP ultra-wide and 5MP macro cameras. OIS is a hardware feature, but the specification alone does not show that the A35 consistently takes better photos than the A34. No controlled head-to-head camera test is established by the cited sources.

How different are the displays and batteries?
On paper, they are close in size and resolution: Samsung lists a 6.6-inch, 1080 × 2340 display for the cited A34 and a 6.6-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with up to 120Hz for the UK A35. The cited A34 specification does not establish its refresh rate, so this comparison cannot confirm a like-for-like refresh-rate advantage. Check the listing for your exact A34 variant if that matters to you.
Both cited specifications give a 5,000mAh typical battery capacity. Capacity is not a battery-runtime test, and the sources do not establish which phone lasts longer in matched use. Samsung lists 25W wired charging for the cited A34 Korean model; the cited A35 UK page does not state a charging rate.

What is the price difference?
There is no reliable current, like-for-like A34-versus-A35 street-price difference established here. PhoneArena reports a historical US$369 MSRP for the A35 6GB/128GB configuration; that is a launch-era reference, not a current price or a live comparison. Price varies with country, storage, seller, condition, warranty and available stock.
Compare listings for the same storage tier and condition in your country. Check that each is the correct regional model, comes from a seller and warranty you trust, and is actually in stock. Do not use an old MSRP as a substitute for today’s local prices.

How long will each phone receive software support?
Samsung’s March 2024 A35 launch announcement says the A35 receives “up to four generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades” and five years of security updates. This is a launch-era policy statement, not a verified count of updates remaining or a support end date as of October 2026. Check Samsung’s current support information for the exact regional model before making a purchase based on its remaining support life.

Which phone should you buy?
Choose the Galaxy A35 if its local premium is small
The A35 is the newer generation and has Samsung-listed OIS on its 50MP main camera, plus a launch-era update policy. It is the more straightforward choice if the price difference is modest, its regional configuration suits your storage needs, and you value those features. Confirm current local support information if update longevity is central to the decision.
Choose the Galaxy A34 if it is meaningfully cheaper
The A34 can make sense when a comparable unit costs substantially less and its storage, performance and verified remaining support meet your needs. Compare the same condition and storage tier; a low price on a different configuration or with a weaker warranty may not represent better value.
If you already own an A34
The specifications cited here do not establish that an upgrade is necessary for an A34 owner. Consider changing phones if you specifically need an A35 feature or a different configuration, and weigh that benefit against the actual local price and your A34’s condition.
Is the A35 water-resistant?
Samsung UK lists the A35 as IP67-rated and describes a lab basis of up to 1 metre of fresh water for up to 30 minutes. Samsung cautions against beach or pool use and says resistance can diminish with wear. The cited A34 material does not establish an equivalent rating for the Korean model, so this is not a direct durability comparison.
