The A36 also has a slightly larger display and a 50MP main camera; both phones list a 120Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED screen and a 5,000mAh typical battery. Those are launch-price and specification differences—not proof of better real-world performance or photos.
India launch prices: how much more did the A36 cost?
The comparison below uses each phone’s announced India launch price, not today’s street price. Samsung announced the A34 on 16 March 2023, with planned retail availability from 28 March; it announced the A36 on 3 March 2025. The A36 launch announcement also mentioned temporary storage-upgrade offers, which could change the effective deal without changing the listed price.

Samsung India’s A36 purchase page displayed ₹36,999 for the 8GB/128GB model and an MRP of ₹46,999 when checked on 7 October 2026; that is a time-sensitive listing, not a like-for-like current-price comparison. A current A34 price and availability were not established. Check both models at the same time and from comparable sellers, with the same storage, warranty, and offers, before deciding which is cheaper now. Samsung’s regional specification pages show broadly similar display and battery specifications, with modest differences in screen size and camera resolution. Specifications alone do not establish comparative image quality, battery life, or speed.

The A36’s listed display is 0.1 inch larger, and its main camera has a higher stated resolution. The A34 has a higher front-camera megapixel count. Megapixels do not by themselves tell you which phone produces better pictures: sensor, lens, image processing, and shooting conditions matter too. Samsung’s pages provide specifications rather than a controlled comparison of camera results or battery endurance. How do Samsung’s software-support statements compare?
The announcements use different wording, so treat these as the commitments each source states rather than directly equivalent guarantees. Samsung India’s A34 launch announcement promised four Android OS updates and five years of security maintenance. The A36 product page states that its security-update period is valid until 31 March 2031. These statements do not establish a guaranteed final Android version for either phone.

Which one makes more sense to buy?
Choose based on a current, like-for-like deal
The historical launch premium tells you what Samsung charged at launch in India, not whether the A36 costs more today. Compare the same RAM and storage configuration, and account for seller, warranty, and any offer. The A34’s current India price and stock were not verified, so a present-day value verdict cannot be derived from launch prices alone.
