For buyers in India, choose the Samsung Galaxy A27 5G if you need 5G, want an FHD+ AMOLED display, or value a stated long-term software-support commitment. Choose the vivo T5e if keeping the price down matters more and 4G is enough. These are not equivalent 5G budget phones: vivo’s listed T5e specifications describe a 4G device, while the A27 is a 5G model.

Does the T5e have 5G?
No 5G support appears in vivo’s India T5e network specifications: they describe 4G+4G dual-SIM standby and LTE bands. The A27 is explicitly the Galaxy A27 5G. If 5G is a purchase requirement, the A27 is the match of these two; do not infer T5e network capability from its product-family name.
Which screen is better for your use?
The phones have nearly the same listed screen size, but the panels are different. Samsung specifies a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with refresh rates up to 120Hz. vivo lists a slightly larger 6.74-inch LCD at 1600×720 and up to 90Hz. The A27’s higher resolution and AMOLED technology make it the stronger choice on listed display hardware; the T5e’s diagonal measurement alone does not make its screen equivalent.

Performance and cameras: what the specs establish
Processor
Samsung lists the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, manufactured on a 4nm process, while vivo lists the Unisoc T7225 on a 12nm process. Those specifications place the chips in different stated hardware tiers, but they are not a substitute for measured speed, gaming performance or efficiency tests. No independent benchmark comparison of these exact phones is established here.
Camera hardware
The A27 has a more elaborate listed camera setup: a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro on the rear, plus a 12MP front camera. Samsung’s India launch announcement lists 4K video recording. The T5e lists an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. On hardware specifications, Samsung offers more; these figures do not prove which phone takes better photos or video in practice.

Battery capacity, charging and expansion
The T5e has the larger stated battery capacity at 5,500mAh, compared with the A27’s 5,000mAh typical capacity. Samsung lists 25W charging for the A27 and vivo lists 15W for the T5e. Capacity figures alone cannot determine which phone lasts longer: screen, processor, software and usage also affect runtime. Both makers list expansion support up to 2TB, but check the exact device and card compatibility before relying on expandable storage.

Software support and how long you plan to keep the phone
Samsung says the A27 will receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates, counted from the initial global launch date. This is Samsung’s stated commitment, not an independent assessment of update delivery. vivo’s T5e page lists Android 16 and Origin OS 6.0, but does not give a matching duration in the reviewed specification. If a published multi-year update commitment matters to your purchase, the evidence favors Samsung.

India prices: compare the same kind of offer
Samsung India announced a launch price of ₹28,999 for the A27 6GB/128GB variant. It also listed 8GB/128GB at ₹31,999 and 8GB/256GB at ₹37,499. The announcement described a ₹3,000 bank/UPI cashback offer; eligibility and availability may vary, so do not treat it as a permanent discount. See Samsung India’s launch announcement.
vivo’s India e-store showed the T5e 4GB/64GB at ₹13,999 when accessed on October 7, 2026 (vivo India e-store listing). That is a dated page price, not a guarantee of today’s checkout price. It is also for a different memory and storage configuration from Samsung’s ₹28,999 launch listing. Check the live price and exact SKU before comparing value; these figures should not be read as current street prices or like-for-like configuration pricing.
