On paper, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G favors a Super AMOLED screen, optical image stabilization (OIS) on its main camera and a stated security-update validity date. The realme P4x 5G favors a faster-refresh LCD, a larger battery and higher maximum charging support. There is no dependable like-for-like price difference to report from the official India pages reviewed: compare current prices for matching RAM and storage before deciding.

The A17 pairs a Super AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz. The P4x uses an LCD with a higher maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. These specifications describe different strengths: panel technology and refresh rate should be weighed separately. A higher refresh-rate figure alone does not establish better image quality.

Battery and charging: realme lists the larger numbers
Samsung lists a 5000mAh typical battery for the A17. realme lists 7000mAh typical capacity (6830mAh rated) and up to 45W charging support for the P4x. The cited Samsung listing does not state a charging wattage, so it does not support a direct charging-speed comparison. Capacity and charging specifications also do not establish real-world battery life.
Camera specifications and stabilization
Samsung lists a 50MP main camera with OIS, alongside 5MP and 2MP rear cameras. The P4x lists a 50MP wide main camera and a 2MP monochrome camera; its main camera has autofocus. OIS is a listed hardware feature on the A17, but megapixel counts and specifications alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos.

For selfies, the A17 lists a 13MP f/2.0 camera and the P4x an 8MP f/2.0 camera. The higher pixel count does not by itself prove better selfie quality; the cited sources provide no controlled comparison.
Performance claims and what they establish
realme names the P4x’s processor as the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G. Its 26 November 2025 launch announcement also claims an AnTuTu score of “780,000+.” That is a manufacturer-stated figure, not an independently verified benchmark here. The cited Samsung specification listing gives CPU speeds of 2.4GHz and 2GHz but does not name the chipset, so an exact chipset comparison cannot be made from these pages.

The A17 is listed at 192g and 7.5mm thick; realme’s product material lists the P4x at 208g and 8.39mm. The P4x is therefore listed as heavier and thicker, which may matter if you prefer a lighter or slimmer handset.

Samsung lists Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac for the A17. The reviewed P4x pages do not establish a complete, directly comparable connectivity specification here. Check the exact P4x variant’s listing if a particular connection standard matters to you.
What the price difference can—and cannot—tell you
Samsung’s India buy page displayed ₹26,999 for the A17 6GB/128GB, with ₹32,999 shown as a crossed-out amount, when accessed on 7 October 2026. This is a changeable page snapshot, not a timeless price. The same page showed 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB variants. The reviewed official realme material did not establish a reliable P4x price; its launch announcement, dated 26 November 2025, announced a 4 December 2025 debut but did not state an official price in the captured text.
To work out a useful price difference, compare same-day India prices from the same retailer where possible. Match RAM and storage as closely as the lineups allow, note the exact configurations, and separate list prices from card, exchange or other promotional offers. Without a verified current P4x price for a comparable configuration, a numerical difference or value winner would be misleading.
