The available records also do not substantiate “two price hikes”: Samsung’s December 2025 US MSRP sheet lists the unlocked model at $199.99, while its October 2026 product page shows a different, AT&T version at $269.99.
What was the Galaxy A17 5G Prime Day price?
SammyGuru reported an Amazon price of $189.99 for Prime members on October 6, 2026, during Prime Big Deal Days (SammyGuru’s October 6 deal report). Amazon’s official announcement set the event for October 6–7, 2026, and described it as a Prime-member sale (Amazon’s event announcement).

Those dates have passed. The $189.99 figure is a reported offer from the event, not confirmation of what Amazon charges now. Check the product listing and checkout total for the current price, stock, storage, carrier status, and any Prime eligibility requirement. The available sources do not establish whether another retailer currently matches or beats that offer.

| Record | Price and date | What it describes |
|---|---|---|
| Samsung US MSRP sheet | $199.99, effective December 2025 | 128GB unlocked Galaxy A17 5G, Black (Samsung US MSRP sheet) |
| SammyGuru deal report | $189.99, October 6, 2026 | Amazon Prime-member offer reported during Big Deal Days; not a guaranteed current price (SammyGuru’s October 6 deal report) |
| Samsung US product page | $269.99, accessed October 7, 2026 | 128GB AT&T listing, not the unlocked configuration in Samsung’s MSRP sheet; page also showed an offer of up to $25 from October 5–7, subject to terms and availability (Samsung’s AT&T purchase page) |
A higher displayed price on a carrier-specific listing cannot, on its own, establish that the unlocked model’s price rose. The cited records provide no same-variant timeline showing two increases, so the “two price hikes” premise should not be treated as fact.
Is the $189.99 offer worth considering?
If the same 128GB model is available to you at $189.99, that is $10.00 below Samsung’s December 2025 US MSRP of $199.99 for the unlocked 128GB model. But the deal report alone does not establish that Amazon’s offer had the same unlocked status or that the price remains available. Confirm the variant and final checkout price before comparing it with Samsung’s MSRP or another retailer’s offer.

PhoneArena reported a separate $50 discount on the 128GB Galaxy A17 5G for Prime Day on June 23, 2026, calling it a then-record low (PhoneArena’s June 23 report). That was a different, historical promotion; it does not verify October’s offer or today’s price.
What should you check before buying?
- Carrier status: Confirm whether the listing is unlocked or tied to a carrier. Do not compare Samsung’s unlocked MSRP directly with an AT&T listing as if they were identical.
- Storage: Verify that the listing is for the 128GB configuration if that is the version you intend to compare.
- Live total: Check the price at checkout; the reported $189.99 offer was tied to a sale that ended October 7, 2026.
- Prime eligibility: The reported Amazon price was for Prime members, so check the terms shown on the listing.
- Other offers: Compare current listings yourself. The cited sources do not establish the lowest available retailer price.
Does the Galaxy A17 5G come with a charger?
No. Samsung says the box includes the smartphone, a data cable, and an ejection pin, and explicitly states that the Galaxy A17 5G does not include a charger (Samsung’s product page). If you need one, check charger compatibility and whether a suitable adapter is already available to you before adding a separate purchase.
