Display: smoother scrolling or sharper detail?
realme C83 5G: 144Hz HD+ LCD
The C83’s listed refresh rate reaches 144Hz, which gives it the higher stated refresh ceiling of the two. Its 1570 × 720 HD+ resolution is lower than the A17’s, and the panel is LCD. The combination favors a high refresh rate on paper, not a claim that every app or task will run at that rate.

Battery and charging: capacity is not a runtime test
realme specifies a typical 7000mAh battery and maximum 15W charging for the C83. Samsung lists 5000mAh for the A17 and highlights 25W charging. The C83 therefore has the larger stated capacity, while Samsung advertises the higher charging rate. These figures alone do not establish how long either phone lasts in use or how long a full charge takes; usage, software, charging conditions, and other factors affect those outcomes.
Cameras: Samsung lists more hardware, but specs do not settle image quality
Samsung lists three rear cameras—50MP, 5MP, and 2MP—with OIS on the rear camera, plus a 13MP front camera. realme lists a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Those specifications make the A17 look more fully equipped on paper, particularly for rear-camera stabilization, but megapixel counts and camera count cannot substitute for comparable photo and video testing.

Software support: the clearer commitment is Samsung’s
The Galaxy A17 5G product page states six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates, counted from the phone’s first global launch date. realme identifies the C83 as running Android 16-based realme UI 7.0, but its cited specification page does not state a matching support duration. That means Samsung publishes the clearer time-based commitment in the available product information; it does not establish that realme will provide no updates.
India price difference: treat ₹3,000 as an unverified snapshot
A Smartprix comparison search-result snapshot showed ₹16,499 for the realme C83 5G and ₹19,499 for the Galaxy A17 5G, a ₹3,000 difference. Those are indicative listing figures, not verified live prices: the snapshot does not establish that the phones are the same RAM and storage configurations, sold by comparable sellers, or available at those prices now. Check current Indian listings and match configuration, seller, and offer timing before deciding which is cheaper.
