For that premium, the M17 adds a sharper FHD+ Super AMOLED screen, optical image stabilisation (OIS) on its main camera, an extra rear camera, a higher-resolution selfie camera and a longer stated software-support policy. The A06 5G is the lower-priced launch option and shares key basics including 5G, a 90Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh typical battery, 25W charging support and IP54 protection.
Those are historical launch prices, not verified current prices. As checked on 4 October 2026, Samsung’s India product pages showed “Not for sale” and no usable price for either model; that does not establish whether other retailers still have stock. India launch prices and the difference
Samsung’s launch announcements list these India prices. They are launch figures from 2025, not current retailer quotes.

The A06 5G announcement also listed a 4GB/64GB option at ₹10,499; the cited M17 announcement does not list that configuration. Check the exact RAM and storage before comparing a live offer, and account for condition, seller, warranty and any bank or instant discounts. What the spec differences mean
Display: M17 is sharper and uses AMOLED
Both phones have a 6.7-inch-class display with a 90Hz refresh rate, but the panels are not alike. The M17’s 1080 × 2340 Super AMOLED screen has substantially more resolution than the A06 5G’s 720 × 1600 PLS LCD. That gives the M17 the clearer specification advantage for fine text and detailed video; the shared 90Hz figure describes refresh rate, not equal sharpness or panel technology.

Cameras: OIS and more listed hardware on the M17
The M17 lists a 50MP main camera with OIS, plus 5MP and 2MP rear cameras, and a 13MP front camera. The A06 5G lists a 50MP main camera and 2MP depth camera, with an 8MP front camera; OIS is not listed for it. These are hardware differences, not proof that one phone takes better photos in every situation. No controlled side-by-side camera results are established here.

Performance: different processors, no established winner
Samsung lists a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 in the A06 5G and an Exynos 1330 in the M17 5G. The processor names alone do not establish which phone is faster in day-to-day use or gaming; no comparable benchmark or performance test is available here.

Updates: longer stated policy for the M17
Samsung advertises up to four generations of OS upgrades and four years of security updates for the A06 5G. For the M17 5G, Samsung states six OS generations and six years of security updates, with its product page giving a security-update period through 30 September 2031. Battery, charging and protection: several shared basics
Both are listed with a 5,000mAh typical-capacity battery and 25W charging support. Samsung says the 25W wall charger is sold separately, so check the box contents rather than assuming one is included. Both have an IP54 rating, which indicates dust and splash protection—not waterproofing. Samsung says resistance is not permanent and advises against beach or pool use. Which one should you choose?
Choose the Galaxy M17 5G if
- You value the M17’s higher-resolution Super AMOLED display.
- You want OIS listed on the main camera and the additional rear and higher-resolution front camera hardware.
- You prefer Samsung’s longer stated OS-upgrade and security-update policy, while recognising that the M17 policy is described as a current plan.
- The actual price you find for the same RAM/storage configuration makes those differences worthwhile.
Choose the Galaxy A06 5G if
- You want the lower launch-price tier and do not need the M17’s display and camera hardware differences.
- You are comfortable with an HD+ PLS LCD and the simpler listed camera setup.
- The shorter stated software-support period fits how long you expect to keep the phone.
Check before buying
- Match RAM and storage: compare 4GB/128GB with 4GB/128GB, or 6GB/128GB with 6GB/128GB.
- Confirm the live price with the seller; the prices above are 2025 launch figures, and Samsung’s checked product pages did not provide a usable current price on 4 October 2026.
- Check handset condition, seller, warranty, current discounts and what is included in the box, especially the separately sold 25W charger.
- Review the seller’s return terms and confirm the model and variant offered for your market.
