Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ disclosed 2026 AI-server supply agreements were reported to total about US$2.6 billion, according to DIGITIMES. That figure is a media-reported aggregate—not one contract or a total itemized in the Samsung releases reviewed. The company separately confirmed two agreements for 2027 supply, worth 1.0722 trillion won and 290 billion won.
What the reported $2.6 billion includes
DIGITIMES reported the roughly US$2.6 billion total on September 30, 2026, describing it as the value of Samsung Electro-Mechanics’ disclosed 2026 supply agreements. The company’s releases confirm individual deals and related business activity, but do not provide a matching itemized reconciliation of that aggregate. It should therefore be attributed to DIGITIMES’ report, rather than presented as a company-quoted figure.

Two agreements announced in September are directly confirmed by Samsung. Their values total 1.3622 trillion won, but the available company announcements do not establish that these are the only agreements counted in DIGITIMES’ larger aggregate.

| Announced | Value and component scope | Delivery | Disclosure |
|---|---|---|---|
| September 1, 2026 | 1.0722 trillion won, about US$780 million; AI-server MLCC supply | January 1–December 31, 2027 | Samsung described the buyer as a major global company; its English release does not name it. |
| September 29, 2026 | 290 billion won; AI-server component agreement | 2027 supply | Samsung described the buyer as an unnamed global company. Its English release calls it a one-year MLCC contract; DIGITIMES characterizes the newer agreement as including MLCCs and inductors. |
The September 1 company announcement specifies the MLCC contract’s amount and delivery period. The September 29 company announcement gives the 290 billion won amount and 2027 supply timing. Neither release identifies its customer by name.

These are future supply commitments, not 2026 sales
The two September agreements call for supply in 2027. Their announced contract values should not be read as revenue already earned, nor should the reported aggregate be treated as a single payment or a 2026 sales figure. Samsung’s Q2 results offer broader business context, not a measure of these deals: it reported consolidated sales of 3,457.2 billion won and operating profit of 440.4 billion won, up 24% and 107% year over year, respectively. Those company-reported results cover the business as a whole, not AI components alone. Samsung’s Q2 2026 results also said it had signed MLCC long-term supply agreements with more than 10 customers and described demand from AI servers and data centers.
What the components do
MLCCs
Multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) help stabilize and manage electrical power in electronic systems. Samsung says AI-server MLCCs need high capacitance and reliability while operating under high-temperature and high-voltage conditions. The company’s Q2 update linked growth in its AI-server, network and data-center MLCC sales to demand for these components; that commentary does not disclose revenue attributable to the September agreements.

- Delivers 25 TFLOPS of AI inference performance using four MemryX MX3 accelerators in a compact M.2 2280 M-key module.
- Connects through PCI Express Gen 3 and above for straightforward integration into embedded and edge systems with an M.2 M-key slot.
- Includes 42 MB of distributed on-chip weight storage to support low-latency, batch-1 pipelined inference.
- Designed for low-power deployment with a 1 W–12 W operating range and host-managed airflow requirements.
- Supports ONNX, TensorFlow, Keras, and TFLite models through the MemryX software stack on Linux and Windows hosts.
Samsung’s September 1 release cites a Goldman Sachs forecast that the AI-server MLCC market will grow from US$1.4 billion in 2025 to US$5.8 billion in 2030, an average annual growth rate of about 34%. These are projected market figures, not observed results or a Samsung sales forecast.
FCBGA substrates
Flip Chip-Ball Grid Array (FCBGA) is a semiconductor package substrate that connects chips—including AI accelerators, GPUs and CPUs—to a mainboard, carrying electrical signals and power. Samsung says demand for AI and high-performance computing is driving demand for larger, higher-layer-count and more integrated substrates. The company’s FCBGA overview explains the substrate’s role.

On September 29, Samsung announced planned FCBGA capacity investment totaling 6.78 trillion won: 4.27 trillion won at its Sejong site in Korea and approximately 2.51 trillion won at its Vietnam subsidiary. This is capital investment, not part of DIGITIMES’ reported US$2.6 billion supply-agreement total. Samsung says the projects have customer funding support and mid- to long-term volume commitments, but does not say they are the same agreements counted in that reported total.
- Sejong: Investment is scheduled from September 2026 to May 2028, with mass production planned to begin in September 2028.
- Vietnam: Construction is targeted for completion, with operations planned, by June 2030.
These dates describe planned projects and production, not capacity already in operation. Samsung president Chang Duckhyun said the investment would strengthen the company’s FCBGA position in growth markets including AI servers and automotive electronics. The investment announcement gives the project amounts and schedule.

What the announcements establish—and what they do not
- Samsung confirmed two September agreements for AI-server supply, with delivery scheduled in 2027.
- DIGITIMES reported about US$2.6 billion for disclosed 2026 supply agreements, but the official releases reviewed do not itemize a corresponding total or reconcile every agreement in it.
- The English company releases reviewed leave the customers unnamed; the identities should not be inferred.
- The FCBGA expansion is a separate, multi-year investment plan. Its funding support and volume commitments do not make the investment part of the reported supply-agreement total.
