Samsung’s October 2026 security bulletin covers Google Android patches, 27 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items, and four high-severity Samsung Semiconductor CVEs. The official bulletin does not explain or verify the “up to 83 fixes” figure, so it should not be treated as Samsung’s confirmed total. Published October 6, 2026, the mobile package is labeled SMR Oct-2026 Release 1.
What Samsung’s October 2026 security patch includes
Samsung’s monthly Security Maintenance Release (SMR) combines patches from Google and Samsung. Samsung says its Samsung Security Index (SSI) reflects both companies’ patches. The October mobile bulletin lists Google Android Security Bulletin items by severity, along with Samsung-specific entries.

Samsung SVE issues
Samsung says the October package provides 27 SVE items. Its list includes examples such as out-of-bounds writes, use-after-free errors, improper input validation, access-control weaknesses, and privilege-management issues. Some high-severity entries concern media parsing and system services; the bulletin says certain issues could let a local attacker execute arbitrary code or access data. That does not mean the listed vulnerabilities are remotely exploitable.
Samsung cautions that some SVE items may already have appeared in an earlier maintenance release. The bulletin does not say every listed item is newly delivered to every device in this package. See the Samsung October 2026 mobile security bulletin for the entries and their details.

Samsung Semiconductor vulnerabilities
The bulletin also lists four Samsung Semiconductor CVEs as high severity: CVE-2026-35494, CVE-2026-68993, CVE-2026-69043, and CVE-2026-69044. These are a separate category from the SVE entries.
Why the “up to 83 fixes” total is unconfirmed
The official bulletin separates Google Android patches, Samsung Semiconductor CVEs, and Samsung SVE items; it does not provide a counting method or reconcile those categories into a total of 83. Its notes about items that may have been included earlier also affect how a count might be interpreted. The verified Samsung figure in the bulletin is 27 SVE items, not an independently confirmed total of 83 fixes.

When will the patch reach your Galaxy device?
Samsung does not provide a complete model-by-model rollout calendar in these bulletins. It says security-patch timing can vary according to device version and model, or service version. The bulletin therefore describes package contents, not a promise that every Galaxy device receives the update on the same date—or is eligible for it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to check for the October security update
- On your Galaxy device, open Settings.
- Tap Software update.
- Tap Download and install to check for an available update.
- To check the installed security patch level, open Settings, tap About phone, then Software information. Look for Android security patch level.
Menu names can vary by model and software version. If the October patch is not offered, that alone does not establish that your device is unsupported: availability depends on the model and software or service version, and Samsung has not published a universal rollout date.
