What the leak reportedly shows
The leaked certification material, attributed in the reports to leaker Abhishek Yadav, appears to list UWB for the rumored Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. The Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ are reportedly listed without it. Certification records can be incomplete, and a Chinese filing does not establish every specification or regional variant sold globally.

That makes “could remove” the accurate description. There is no Samsung statement confirming that the S27+ lacks the radio, and the company could still enable UWB in a later filing or in certain markets.

If the S27+ truly omits UWB, a compatible SmartTag should still be discoverable through standard Bluetooth-based functions where supported. The difference would be the loss of the most precise, direction-aware finding experience, not necessarily the loss of basic tracker operation.
Hands-free digital keys
UWB can also support compatible digital-key systems. In implementations that use the technology, a phone can authenticate its location relative to a vehicle or smart lock and allow access while the phone remains in a pocket. Actual availability depends on the specific vehicle, lock, service, software and regional support; UWB hardware alone does not guarantee that a digital key will work.

Why losing UWB would be unusual for the Plus line
Galaxy Plus phones have reportedly included UWB since the Galaxy S21+. Removing it from the S27+ would therefore break a pattern spanning six Plus generations. Owners who have invested in UWB-capable trackers or digital-key setups could see the change as a downgrade even if the phone retains other flagship connectivity.

If you already use UWB accessories
Count the features you actually use. If you rely on directional SmartTag guidance or a UWB-based vehicle or smart-lock key, wait for Samsung’s complete specifications or choose a model that officially retains UWB. Do not assume that a Plus phone’s previous-generation support will carry over.

If you only need basic item tracking
The rumored omission may have little practical effect if you use a tracker primarily for its ordinary Bluetooth-based locating and community-assisted network features. Confirm compatibility for the specific tracker and Samsung software version before buying, because those functions are separate from UWB.

Make UWB an explicit decision criterion rather than inferring it from the model name. The leaked information points to UWB in the Pro and Ultra and not in the S27+, but neither model’s final regional specification is official. Compare the published connectivity lists when Samsung launches the phones, then check whether your accessory or digital-key provider requires UWB.
