To remove a Samsung account from a Galaxy phone or tablet, open Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts, select the Samsung account, tap Remove account, and confirm. This signs the account out of that device; it does not permanently delete the online account. Samsung puts it plainly: “Removing a Samsung account is different than permanently deleting your account.”
Remove a Samsung account from a Galaxy device
Have your Samsung account ID and password handy, particularly if you may want to sign in again. Samsung may ask you to enter the password to complete sign-out.

- Open Settings.
- Tap Accounts and backup.
- Tap Manage accounts.
- Select your Samsung account.
- Tap Remove account, confirm, and complete any sign-out prompt. Enter your Samsung account password if requested.
The precise labels and screens can vary by device model, software version, and region. If you do not see the route above, search Settings for “Manage accounts” or check the manual for your specific model. Samsung’s US account-removal guide and India instructions describe the sign-out flow.

Samsung UK describes account management, including an online deletion process, in its Samsung Account setup and management guide. Consult Samsung support for your region before proceeding with account deletion.

If you have forgotten your Samsung account password
Reset the password through Samsung’s account-recovery process before returning to the device removal steps. Samsung UK advises resetting the password online first; a factory reset is not a password bypass.
Why a factory reset is not the same fix
A factory reset returns the device to factory settings and deletes personal data stored on it. Back up important files before resetting. Samsung’s factory-reset guidance also says a network connection is required to log out of a Samsung account before completing a reset, and the password for a signed-in Samsung account may be required.

After certain reset methods, Google Factory Reset Protection (FRP) may require verification of the Google account previously registered on the device during setup. A reset therefore should not be used to bypass an account password, ownership checks, or anti-theft protections.
