Pickup is the lower-cost choice; delivery is the easier one. Sam’s Club describes curbside pickup as free with no minimum for eligible items at participating clubs. Standard delivery can also be free for Plus members with an eligible pre-tax order of $50 or more, but otherwise carries a per-order fee. Your best option depends on membership, item and slot availability, how soon you need the order, and whether a trip to the club is worthwhile.

How much does Sam’s Club charge for delivery?
For standard delivery, the fee depends on membership and basket total. The $50 threshold for Plus members applies to eligible items before tax; eligible orders at or above it qualify for free standard delivery. A Plus order below that amount costs $8, while a Club order costs $12. Add-on members are charged at the Club rate even if connected to a Plus membership.

Expedited delivery is a separate choice with an added per-order fee: Express, described as delivery as soon as one hour, is $10 for Plus and $22 for Club; delivery in three hours or less is $5 for Plus and $17 for Club. When pickup is the better choice
- You want to minimize service charges. Pickup is listed as free with no order minimum, subject to eligible items and participating clubs.
- You can make the trip. Pickup requires you to reach the club and have sufficient vehicle space for the order.
- Your items and timing work. Pickup is limited to eligible products and available slots. Editing an order is subject to a cutoff, so check the order details for the applicable deadline.

When delivery is the better choice
- Skipping the trip is worth the fee. Delivery can spare you the drive and the work of carrying groceries home. For Plus members, an eligible pre-tax basket of $50 or more qualifies for free standard delivery under the published terms.
- You need an order sooner. Standard delivery may be same-day or next-day; expedited choices have additional fees and are only useful if an appropriate local slot appears at checkout.
- Your address and items qualify. Some products are excluded, including gift cards, tires, flowers, prescriptions, Café items, mobile phones, alcohol, and tobacco. The list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Delivery is not available in Puerto Rico according to the shop-options page.
Same-day delivery is conditional, not guaranteed. Sam’s Club says same-day orders are generally due by 1 p.m. local time, but a cutoff does not guarantee a slot. Availability depends on participating locations, eligible products, inventory, club hours, delivery address, and open time windows.

Should you upgrade to Plus for delivery?
Decide using your actual ordering habits, not the free-delivery threshold alone. Compare the delivery charges you expect to avoid with the current membership cost and the value you would get from Plus’s other benefits. The published delivery terms establish the $50 eligible pre-tax basket threshold, but they do not establish whether an upgrade will pay off for an individual shopper.
