Sam’s Club is treating convenience as part of fresh food’s value—not just its price or quality. A report credited to Fox Business News says the retailer is promoting ready-to-cook meals and offering fresh groceries through club shopping, curbside pickup and delivery. The details describe a strategy, not a guarantee that every item or service is available at every club.
What Sam’s Club says it is changing
In an October 4, 2026 report hosted by JBizNews and credited to Fox Business News, Sam’s Club executive Myron Frazier said convenience is becoming increasingly important to the value equation for fresh food. He described the goal as making fresh items easier to get from the club to members’ homes and easier to serve at the table. The reported approach has two parts: prepared ingredients and meals that reduce cooking effort, and a choice of ways to receive groceries. Members can shop in the club or, where offered, use curbside pickup or delivery. Frazier’s remarks frame these options as ways to provide fresh food on members’ terms, rather than relying on one shopping routine.
Which ready-to-cook foods are mentioned?
The report names fresh panko chicken breast and a ready-to-cook “Marry Me Chicken” meal. It says the meal can feed a family of four in about 12 minutes. That is a product preparation claim reported in the article, not an independently tested cooking time; actual results can depend on the product instructions and preparation.
#1 Best Overall
- KEEP PRODUCE FRESHER LONGER: Rubbermaid FreshWorks Produce Saver uses FreshVent technology to regulate airflow, so your produce stays fresher longer.
- BUILT-IN FILTER: The built-in FreshVent filter in these Rubbermaid containers regulates the flow of oxygen and carbon dioxide to create the optimal environment for your fresh produce; the filter lasts a lifetime—no refills needed
- ELEVATED BASE: The elevated base in these plastic containers lifts produce away from moisture and promotes proper airflow
- EASY-CARE: BPA-free containers are dishwasher-safe
- EASY TO USE: Simply place unwashed and uncut produce in the FreshWorks container and place container in the fridge; FreshWorks works best when only one type of produce is stored in a container
These examples suggest a convenience strategy built around reducing meal-planning and prep work. They do not establish that the items are stocked at every Sam’s Club or remain available over time. Check local availability and package instructions before planning a meal around a specific item.
How can members receive fresh groceries?
Frazier described in-club shopping, curbside pickup and home delivery as fulfillment choices. The report also says Sam’s Club Express Delivery can bring fresh items in under an hour without a markup. Treat both the speed and no-markup terms as claims attributed to Frazier: the article does not provide an independent price comparison, and service details and coverage may vary by location and date.

The practical trade-off is between control over the shopping trip, speed and assortment. A club visit lets shoppers select items themselves; pickup avoids shopping inside; delivery removes the trip. The sources do not establish that all three options, the same assortment or rapid delivery are available in every area.

What the broader grocery data says—and does not say
McKinsey’s June 17, 2026 The State of Grocery North America reports that 70 percent of surveyed consumers preferred delivery for online grocery fulfillment, based on its March 2026 Grocery Consumer Survey. Among respondents who preferred delivery, 67 percent cited time savings, 52 percent scheduling flexibility and 45 percent ease with larger orders. These are survey responses about grocery fulfillment overall, not a survey of Sam’s Club members. See McKinsey’s report.

The same report found a strong stated preference for wider assortment over the fastest delivery: 90 percent preferred a wider, in-store-like selection delivered the same day, while 10 percent preferred a narrower selection delivered in under 30 minutes. That comparison helps explain why convenience need not mean speed alone. It does not show which option Sam’s Club members choose or what its local assortment includes.
How Sam’s Club’s digital growth fits in
Walmart’s August 20, 2026 Q2 FY27 earnings release reported 26 percent growth in Sam’s Club U.S. e-commerce for the quarter and said members leaned into speed and convenience options, including club-fulfilled delivery. The figure is an overall e-commerce measure, not a fresh-food digital-sales result; it cannot establish how much fresh grocery sales grew online. Read Walmart’s earnings release.

What members should check before ordering
- Confirm that pickup or delivery is offered at your club and for your address.
- Check the current assortment and item availability; the named meals may not be stocked everywhere or continuously.
- Review the displayed delivery fee, timing and any applicable terms for your order rather than assuming the reported no-markup claim applies to every service or location.
- Follow the package’s cooking instructions; the reported 12-minute meal claim is not a cooking-time guarantee for every kitchen.
Walmart’s leadership page currently lists Frazier as Senior Vice President, eCommerce, Sam’s Club, while the JBizNews report uses a different title. Because those titles conflict, this article identifies him by name without assigning an interview-date title. View Walmart’s leadership page.
