For a broad current ranking, Pocket Gamer’s September 2, 2026 tier list for version 1.0.73 places Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard), Griffon Minos (LC), Ophiuchus Asclepius, God Cloth Hyôga, and several other Knights in S+. A narrower Gameax list, revised September 23, ranks 23 common Knights for advanced PvE and Arena, with Saga, Shaka, Camus, Seiya, and Ikki in S. These are editorial rankings with different scopes—not one definitive ordering for every team or mode.
Current tier lists: which Knights rank highest?
The two recent lists below are useful starting points, but they should not be combined into a single consensus ranking. Pocket Gamer covers a broader roster; Gameax explicitly focuses on common character versions in advanced PvE and Arena.

Pocket Gamer: broad roster, version 1.0.73
Pocket Gamer’s list, updated September 2, 2026, calls itself a ranking of currently available characters and recommends prioritizing S+ and S Knights, while treating A-tier units as viable options until stronger choices become available. It says the update added Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard) and Griffon Minos (LC). Its S+ tier includes these named Knights: Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard), Griffon Minos (LC), Ophiuchus Asclepius, God Cloth Hyôga, Pisces Albafica, Virgo Shijima, Balrog Lune, God Hades, Phoenix Ikki, Evil Saga, Shaka, and Aioros. Its S tier includes King of the Underworld Alone, God Cloth Aries Mu, Pope Sage, Saga, Camus, Shina, Sagittarius Seiya, Aioria, and Pandora, among others. See Pocket Gamer’s full tier list.
The same list puts Altar Hakurei, Partita, Pegasus Tenma, Shiryu God Cloth, Shun God Cloth, Kraken Isaac, Siren Sorento, and Marin in A. Shiryu, Orpheus, Taurus Ox, Aries Shion, Cygnus Hyoga, Ichi, Ban, and Shun are among its B-tier examples. Geki, Black Andromeda, Hound, Graad Guard, Sanctuary Warrior, and Graveyard units appear in C.

Gameax: 23 common Knights for advanced PvE and Arena
Gameax’s September 23, 2026 revision ranks 23 common Knights for advanced PvE and Arena. It cautions that newer versions of a character can rank differently. The named placements are:
| Tier | Knights |
|---|---|
| S | Saga, Shaka, Camus, Seiya, Ikki |
| A | Shiryu, Hyoga, Shun, Aiolia, Milo |
| B | Mu, Aldebaran, Dohko, Death Mask, Aphrodite |
| C | Shina, Marin, Jabu, Ichi |
| D | Cassios, Ban, Nachi, Geki |
See Gameax’s tier list and methodology.
Why do rankings disagree?
The lists measure different scopes, and their placements diverge even for familiar Knights. Saga and Shaka are S in Gameax and S+ in Pocket Gamer; Camus is S in both; Shina is S in Pocket Gamer but C in Gameax; Marin is A in Pocket Gamer and C in Gameax. That is a reason to check a list’s mode, character version, and evaluation criteria—not to average its letters or assume players agree on a universal order.

How to use a tier list when building a team
A tier label is only one input into a six-Knight formation. The official US App Store description lists six formation slots, six elements—Water, Fire, Air, Earth, Light, and Darkness—and four Knight types: Protector, Warrior, Assassin, and Skilled. It says, “there is no strongest knight but only stronger formation.” That is promotional wording, not a competitive ranking, but it points to a practical issue: a top-tier unit may be a poor fit if your lineup lacks the roles or composition it needs. Check the mode and character version
Start with the content you want to clear. Gameax’s ranking is specifically for advanced PvE and Arena; it should not automatically be treated as a ranking for every other activity. Also compare the exact version in your roster: Gameax notes that newer versions may rank differently, while Pocket Gamer’s list distinguishes variants such as God Cloth Hyôga, Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard), and Griffon Minos (LC).
Assess the unit’s job and opening impact
Gameax says it considers ultimate-skill impact—including control, area damage, and protection—alongside speed and turn order. It also notes that a Knight can outperform a nominally higher-tier unit in the right composition. When comparing two candidates, consider whether their abilities support the rest of your formation and whether acting earlier changes the outcome you need.

Account for investment before spending scarce resources
Gameax includes investment dependency in its criteria, including awakenings, stars, and equipment. A character’s listed tier does not tell you how much development is required to reach its useful performance. Before committing resources, compare that cost with what your current team needs and the mode you are preparing for. Pocket Gamer’s advice to prioritize S+ and S, and use A-tier Knights while waiting for stronger options, is that guide’s recommendation—not an official game rule.

New character content can make older lists less representative. The official game site displayed an Apollo official video dated September 24, 2026, as well as Thanatos (LC) on September 10, Taurus Aldebaran (Hasgard) on August 27, and Griffon Minos on August 13. Check the official game site for character news. A community-maintained Codex timeline also shows release-tracking entries, but its GLO, JP, and CN labels are not official confirmation that a character is available in every region, nor evidence of how strong it is.
