The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is the better fit if you want a conventional phone with an integrated S Pen, a larger listed battery and higher-resolution main and long-telephoto camera hardware. Choose the Galaxy Z Fold6 5G if using a much larger screen when unfolded matters more: it has a 7.6-inch inner display and a 6.3-inch cover display for folded use. At US launch, the Fold6 cost $600 more than the S24 Ultra at both comparable storage tiers; that is a historical MSRP difference, not a current price quote.
Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra vs Galaxy Z Fold6 5G: the specs that matter
The main distinction is the shape and use of the phone. The S24 Ultra is a single-screen handset. The Fold6 opens into a larger display, while retaining a cover screen for use when folded. Display sizes below are diagonal measurements, not directly comparable measures of usable screen area.

Which phone has the better screen for your use?
Choose the S24 Ultra for a traditional phone
Its 6.8-inch display gives you a large screen in a single-piece phone design. There is no need to unfold the device to access its main display.
#1 Best Overall
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
Choose the Fold6 for the larger unfolded workspace
The Fold6’s 7.6-inch inner display is the more compelling option if you expect to use a broad screen for reading, viewing or working with multiple items on screen. Its 6.3-inch cover display provides a separate, smaller screen when the phone is folded. Samsung described the Fold6’s cover-screen ratio as fitting more naturally in the hand; that is Samsung’s product statement, not an independent ergonomic finding. Samsung Global Newsroom
Camera specifications: what the numbers do and do not show
The S24 Ultra has a higher listed resolution on its main camera (200MP versus 50MP) and its 5x telephoto camera (50MP versus the Fold6’s listed 10MP telephoto). It also lists a separate 10MP 3x telephoto and a 12MP ultrawide. The Fold6 lists a 50MP wide, 10MP telephoto and 12MP ultrawide rear array.

Battery capacity and stylus use
Battery capacity
Samsung lists a 5,000mAh typical capacity for the S24 Ultra and 4,400mAh for the Fold6. Capacity favors the S24 Ultra on paper, but these figures do not establish how long either phone lasts in real-world use.
Rank #3
- 6.8″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ display with a 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to ~2600 nits peak brightness — delivering a bright, sharp screen with smooth scrolling and great outdoor visibility.
S Pen
The S24 Ultra has an S Pen integrated into the phone, making it the more straightforward choice if you want a stylus close at hand. Samsung lists S Pen support for the Fold6, but the cited product specification does not confirm what a particular retail package includes. Check the bundle and pen compatibility before buying.
Durability ratings: IP68 versus IP48
The S24 Ultra is rated IP68 and the Fold6 IP48. These are different dust- and water-resistance classifications; neither means a phone is damage-proof or guarantees that water or dust damage will be covered by warranty. Treat the rating as a product specification, not a promise about the outcome of a spill, drop or repair claim. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 specifications · Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra product page
