Three RYOBI laser levels are officially listed with two AAA batteries included: the ELL1501, ELL1004 and ELL1750. A fourth possible example, the ELDM65 laser distance measurer, appears in a Home Depot listing as AAA-compatible, but that retailer listing is not manufacturer confirmation. The tools also serve different purposes: laser levels project alignment lines, while a distance measurer measures between points.
RYOBI tools listed with AAA batteries
RYOBI’s Canadian product pages list two AAA batteries among the included items for each of these three laser levels. That establishes the cells are supplied with the tools; check the model’s manual for replacement specifications and operating details.

Is the ELDM65 powered by AAA batteries?
The Home Depot category listing for the RYOBI ELDM65 65-foot Laser Distance Measurer identifies its compatible battery type as AAA. That is retailer-provided compatibility information, not confirmation from a RYOBI product page. The available listing does not establish the number of cells or their chemistry. Check the exact model’s manual before purchasing batteries or relying on this as a confirmed requirement. Home Depot category listing
Choose by the job, not just the battery
For projecting an alignment line
The ELL1501 and ELL1004 are laser levels. The ELL1501 has a listed 15-foot range and push-pin mounting; the ELL1004 has a listed 20-foot range and an AirGrip base for attachment to many surfaces. The ELL1750 is also a laser level, with a mounting cradle and angle-finder alignment plate listed among its included items. These are alignment tools, not substitutes for a distance measurer.

For measuring distance
The ELDM65 is identified as a 65-foot laser distance measurer in the retailer listing. Its role differs from a level: it measures distance rather than projecting a line to align objects. The 65-foot figure is the model range stated in that listing.
Do AAA batteries power RYOBI’s 18V stereo?
No conclusion that AAA cells are the stereo’s main power source follows from the catalog entry. RYOBI’s 2019 European catalog describes the R18RH-0 stereo as an 18V product and separately lists two AAA alkaline batteries as standard equipment. That makes the AAA cells auxiliary, not evidence that they power the stereo. RYOBI/TTI 2019 European catalog

Check the exact model before replacing batteries
- Read the model number on the tool and match it to the manual; similar-looking RYOBI products can have different battery requirements.
- Use RYOBI’s support page to find model-specific manuals and replacement parts.
- For battery guidance, consult RYOBI’s battery support page and follow the instructions for the exact product.
The three laser-level product pages establish that two AAA batteries are included with their named models. For the ELDM65, the available evidence is a retailer category listing, so verify its manual rather than assuming the same level of manufacturer confirmation.
