The Russell Hobbs RHMO300 is advertised as a 34L family-size turntable microwave with 10 power levels, six auto-cook menus and a memory function for up to three settings. The main caveats are important: Russell Hobbs publishes conflicting wattage and warranty details, retailer and review listings disagree on its external dimensions, and the public CHOICE page does not reveal its test scores. This is a researched review of the published specifications and manual, not a hands-on test.
What the RHMO300 offers
Russell Hobbs New Zealand describes the RHMO300 as a 34L microwave with a stainless steel finish. Its listed controls and features include an LED display, 10 power levels, six auto-cook menus, instant cook start, a clock, child safety lock, and time- and weight-based defrosting. CHOICE also identifies it as a turntable microwave and lists a 32 cm turntable.

Those figures describe the product as listed; they do not establish how much usable space is available for a particular dish. Check the internal cavity and turntable against the cookware you expect to use.
Wattage: check the specific unit
Russell Hobbs’ current New Zealand product page is internally inconsistent: a feature image says “1000w Microwave Power,” while the feature bullets list 1100W. CHOICE also lists 1100W. Because the manufacturer’s own page gives two figures, it is not sound to present either one as definitively correct for every RHMO300. Check the rating plate on the unit and its manual before relying on a wattage figure. The 220–240 V supply and AU/NZ plug are stated on Bunnings Australia’s listing; that listing is relevant to its market and should not be taken as confirmation of suitability elsewhere.

Published external dimensions conflict substantially, and the listings do not establish whether they use the same measurement order or convention.

Do not average these figures or assume one dimension order. Before buying, ask the manufacturer or seller to confirm the unit’s actual width, height and depth, and the required ventilation clearances. Measure the intended spot with those clearances in mind; a microwave that fits the shelf dimensions alone may still be unsuitable if airflow space is required.

Controls, auto menus and memory
Six auto-cook menus
The product page advertises six auto-cook menus. Russell Hobbs’ 2023 booklet visibly names popcorn, potato, frozen vegetable, beverage and dinner plate, but the material available here identifies only five examples. The sixth menu is not established, so check the control panel or the manual for the exact program list for your unit.

Up to three memory settings
The RHMO300 instruction manual says: “You can programme up to 3 memory settings in the RHMO300 Family Microwave.” The manual also describes multi-section cooking, which allows a cooking program to be made up of multiple sections. These are documented functions; their presence does not amount to independent testing of cooking results or ease of use.

Defrost and everyday controls
Time and weight defrost are listed by the manufacturer. The product page also advertises instant cook start, a clock, LED display and child safety lock. If a particular control matters to your routine, confirm its operation and available settings in the manual for the unit you are considering.
What independent testing can—and cannot—tell you
CHOICE has a dedicated RHMO300 review page. It identifies test categories including cooking performance, vegetables, defrosting, reheating, ease of use and visibility through the door. However, the public page does not show the expert rating or detailed results; those are member-only. Its existence confirms that the model has been reviewed, but the visible information does not support a performance verdict or a claim that it excels or falls short in any category.

No hands-on testing or ownership experience is established here either. Treat the manufacturer’s feature list and manual as evidence of advertised and documented functions, not proof of real-world cooking performance, reliability, energy use or user satisfaction.

Warranty information is inconsistent in Russell Hobbs’ New Zealand product material: a bullet lists two years, while a product image says one year. A Russell Hobbs Australia booklet from 2023 states a two-year warranty, but it is historical material and does not establish current Australian terms. Confirm the warranty period, exclusions and service route with the seller or manufacturer for your country and purchase date.

There is no dependable current price established across markets. Bunnings Australia’s search listing showed A$245.65 when captured; a 2023 Russell Hobbs Australia booklet gave an A$229.95 RRP. These are not directly comparable or guaranteed current prices. Use the current local checkout price, including delivery, when deciding whether the RHMO300 fits your budget.
Who should consider the RHMO300?
The RHMO300 may merit consideration if you want a large-capacity turntable microwave and value features such as multiple power levels, preset menus, defrost options and programmable memory. The advertised 34L capacity and listed 32 cm turntable offer useful starting points, but measure the dishes you use and verify the unit’s actual exterior size before committing.
It is harder to recommend on performance grounds from public evidence alone: the published wattage conflicts, external dimensions vary by source, and CHOICE’s detailed results are not publicly visible. Compare it with alternatives using confirmed usable capacity and turntable size, verified exterior dimensions and clearance, microwave output versus input power, control usability, local warranty and the total delivered price. The available evidence does not establish that the RHMO300 outperforms another microwave.
