A high placement is not a universal guarantee: a lower-ranked or lower-rarity hero can be a better fit when their healing, control, damage, or debuffs complement the rest of your lineup.
What the current tier list can—and cannot—tell you
Pocket Gamer’s Rumble Heroes tier list was updated October 5, 2026, and identifies game version 2.2.135. It divides heroes into S, A, B, and C tiers. Treat it as a dated editorial snapshot, not an official developer ranking or a measured guarantee of performance.

The guide itself cautions against using rarity as the whole selection rule: some Epic and Rare heroes can be strong in particular compositions, and heroes placed lower can still work well with the right teammates. Use placement to decide whom to consider, not as a complete team-building rule.
Choose for the gap in your team
Before swapping in a high-tier hero, identify what your lineup is missing. A candidate may contribute survivability and healing, damage, area coverage, control, or a debuff. Their value depends on whether that contribution fills a gap or merely duplicates what the team already does.

- Healing and area damage: Pocket Gamer describes Holy Mace Paul as offering both. That combination may suit a team that needs more sustain without giving up area damage.
- Boss debuffs: Big-Sickle Jennifer applies bleed, which the guide notes can help against bosses. Consider her when that effect fits the encounter and the rest of the lineup.
- Control and ally support: Ice Bobo offers frostbite crowd control and an attack increase for allies. That can be useful when controlling enemies and supporting teammates matter to the activity.
These are examples of possible fit, not universal recommendations. The cited guide does not establish that any one of these heroes belongs in every team.
Check whether abilities and activity mechanics work together
Ask whether a hero’s damage type, healing, control, or debuff complements another ability—and whether the activity rewards that interaction. Official patch notes illustrate why context can matter, but dated skill descriptions should not be mistaken for current seasonal rules or proof of comparative strength.

Defensive support: Frozen Shield Arthur
In its May 29, 2025 update notes for version 2.2.069, the Rumble Heroes Service Center describes Frozen Shield Arthur as able to taunt nearby enemies, shield allies, and boost attack. Those skills show how one hero can combine protection with support; the notes do not show how he compares with other heroes in current play.

The official June 27, 2025 update notes for version 2.2.079 say Flameblade Ken applies burn and bleed, and describe a season-specific Abyss ally that grows stronger when allies inflict burn. This is an example of an interaction tied to a particular season. Do not assume that seasonal detail remains active in 2026: check the current game’s activity rules before building around it. The notes establish skill descriptions, not a current best-team result.

A practical way to compare candidates
- Name the job: What does this hero add—survivability, healing, damage, area coverage, control, or a debuff?
- Find the gap: Does that job address something the current team lacks, or repeat a role already covered?
- Look for a useful interaction: Can the hero’s damage type, debuff, healing, or control support another ability?
- Match it to the activity: Does the mode or encounter reward that role or interaction? If a seasonal rule is involved, confirm it is current.
- Check the ranking’s context: Note its update date and game version, then use its tiers as a shortlist rather than a final verdict.
This framework helps explain why a hero fits; it does not produce one best team for every player or mode. The reviewed sources provide no controlled performance tests or official hero win-rate data, so there is no supported basis here for treating tier positions as measured results.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why ranking date and game version matter
Rumble Heroes is a single-player mobile action RPG. Its Google Play listing, which shows an update date of September 29, 2026, describes recruiting and raising heroes with different skills, exploration, dungeons, and equipment progression. It says, “Recruit and raise legendary heroes that use various skills!” That is the publisher’s product description, not evidence that one rarity or hero is always superior.
