Short answer: Pre-release 3DMark graphics scores reported on February 17, 2025 put the desktop RTX 5070 Ti ahead of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER in every listed test. The gains ranged from 10.9% to 25.1%, averaging about 16.6% across the eight results. That is a comfortable synthetic-benchmark lead, not a promise of 16.6% more frames in every game.
The leak used one review system and pre-launch data. As a buying decision, the RTX 5070 Ti is the stronger new purchase when its price is close to the older card, while replacing a working RTX 4070 Ti SUPER usually is not worthwhile unless you specifically want Blackwell features such as DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation.

The leaked 3DMark results
VideoCardz described the figures as fresh reviewer data obtained before the RTX 5070 Ti’s retail launch. The comparison used an MSRP/reference-clock RTX 5070 Ti, an RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and an RTX 5080 on a system with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and 48GB of DDR5-6000 memory. The published values are graphics scores, rather than complete 3DMark scores that also include CPU performance.

What the leak does—and does not—prove
It confirms a lead in this synthetic sample
The RTX 5070 Ti led in all eight listed 3DMark graphics tests. Speed Way and Port Royal, which emphasize ray tracing, showed leads of about 18–19%. Traditional raster-oriented tests varied more: Time Spy was about 11% faster, while the Fire Strike tests ranged from 16.1% to 25.1%.
It is not a universal gaming multiplier
3DMark workloads do not reproduce every game’s engine, resolution scaling method or CPU behavior. A 25.1% Fire Strike Ultra advantage cannot be converted into a guaranteed 25.1% frame-rate increase in a particular 4K title. At 1080p, a fast processor can limit both cards; at 4K, the GPU is more likely to determine performance.
Pre-release conditions matter
Reviewer drivers, power limits, cooling, factory overclocks and benchmark versions can change results. A comparison between an overclocked retail 5070 Ti and a reference-clock 4070 Ti SUPER is not equivalent to the reported run. Record the exact preset, resolution, driver and card model when comparing independent results.

| Architecture | Blackwell | Ada Lovelace |
| CUDA cores | 8,960 | 8,448 |
| Tensor cores | 5th generation | 4th generation |

| Memory bandwidth | 896GB/s | 672GB/s |
| NVIDIA-listed boost clock | 2.45GHz | 2.61GHz |
| Launch MSRP | $749 | $799 |
NVIDIA’s comparison page lists the core, memory and feature specifications. The lower listed boost clock on the 5070 Ti does not make it slower by itself: architecture, instructions per clock, memory subsystem and workload all affect performance. The 5070 Ti has only modestly more CUDA cores, but Blackwell, newer ray-tracing and Tensor cores, and 33% more memory bandwidth provide a broader explanation for its lead.
Both cards have 16GB: this is not a VRAM-capacity upgrade
Each card carries 16GB and uses a 256-bit bus. Moving to the RTX 5070 Ti changes the memory technology from GDDR6X to GDDR7 and raises bandwidth from 672GB/s to 896GB/s, but it does not provide a larger framebuffer. Owners seeking extra capacity for professional applications, heavily modded games, AI workloads or future 4K textures will not get that benefit from this swap.
DLSS 4 is a feature advantage, not part of the 16.6% score
The RTX 5070 Ti supports the RTX 50-series feature set, including DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER supports the RTX 40-series feature set, including DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction and conventional Frame Generation. NVIDIA identifies Multi Frame Generation as a 50-series feature, while Frame Generation is available on 40-series cards.

- Generated frames are not the same as fully rendered frames; base FPS and latency still matter.
- Benefits depend on game support, settings, image quality and artifacts.
- Do not add a DLSS 4 feature advantage directly to the leaked 3DMark percentage.
- Players focused on competitive latency may prefer native or conventionally rendered performance.
Price: MSRP favored the 5070 Ti, but street prices decide value
NVIDIA listed a $749 launch MSRP for the RTX 5070 Ti, announced for February 2025. The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER launched at $799 on January 24, 2024. The nominal $50 difference is about 6.3% of the older card’s launch price, while the leaked synthetic average was about 16.6%.
NVIDIA’s RTX 5070 Ti announcement and its RTX 4070 SUPER family announcement establish those launch prices. They are not current August 2026 retail quotes. Custom-board premiums, availability, taxes, used-market condition and warranty can reverse the value equation.
Which card makes sense for each buyer?
Choose the RTX 5070 Ti when
- Its exact model costs no more than roughly 10–15% above a comparable 4070 Ti SUPER.
- You are buying new and want Blackwell, newer ray tracing and DLSS 4.
- You play supported titles where Multi Frame Generation is useful and acceptable.
- You target demanding 1440p high-refresh or 4K gaming.
Choose the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER when
- It is substantially cheaper, especially with a reputable seller and remaining warranty.
- You already own one and are satisfied with its games and settings.
- You prioritize native or conventional rendering over generated-frame features.
- The available 5070 Ti model has an inflated price, poor cooling or inconvenient dimensions.
Consider neither as an upgrade target when
- You need more than 16GB of VRAM.
- The price approaches a higher performance tier with a clearly larger margin.
- You mainly play at 1080p and are CPU-limited.
- You expect 4K ultra ray tracing without relying on reconstruction or frame generation.
Resolution, workload and model details to check
1440p versus 4K
At 1440p, CPU limits and game-engine behavior can narrow the visible difference, especially with a high-end processor. At 4K, the 5070 Ti’s bandwidth and architecture are more likely to show their advantage. Upscaling and frame-generation settings must match before comparing FPS.
Rasterization versus ray tracing
The leak’s larger Port Royal and Speed Way margins suggest potential ray-tracing gains, but only controlled game tests can establish a game’s actual result. Keep native rendering, upscaling, frame generation and ray tracing as separate test categories.
Power, cooling and physical fit
Board power, connector arrangement, cooler size, dimensions and factory clocks vary by add-in-board manufacturer. Check the exact card’s official specification and your case clearance rather than assuming every 5070 Ti or 4070 Ti SUPER has the same behavior. The same applies to power-supply capacity and cabling.
How to use 3DMark for your own comparison
- Install the same 3DMark test and preset on both systems; 3DMark is available through Steam.
- Use the same driver family, resolution, API settings and power profile where possible.
- Record the exact GPU model, factory clock, CPU, memory and driver version.
- Compare graphics scores, not only the overall score, to reduce CPU contamination.
- Run multiple passes and reject results affected by thermal throttling, unstable overclocks or abnormal background load.
- Follow up with games at identical quality, ray-tracing, upscaling and frame-generation settings.
Verdict
The February 2025 leak was credible evidence of a meaningful RTX 5070 Ti lead in its specific pre-release 3DMark sample: about 16.6% on average, with a 10.9–25.1% spread. It was not evidence that every game runs 16.6% faster. For a new purchase, the 5070 Ti is the better choice when priced near its $749 launch MSRP or close to a discounted 4070 Ti SUPER and when its newer features matter. For an existing 4070 Ti SUPER owner, the same 16GB capacity and moderate raw uplift make replacement difficult to justify unless the resale-adjusted cost is low or DLSS 4 is the primary reason to upgrade.
